This exhibition comprises of mixed media artworks from 3 exhibitions =
• 2006 Purapura Whetu – Star Dust
• 2007 Karere – Herald
• 2007 Te Hokinga – The Return
All these works pay homage to the ancient people of Waitaha, the Kai Purakau (Story Tellers) & their stories
These works are an awakening into ancient memories.
KIA HORA TE MARINO,
KIA WHAKAPAPA POUNAMU TE MOANA,
KIA TERE TE KAAROHIROHI I MUA I TOO HUARAHI.
MAY PEACE BE WIDESPREAD,
MAY THE SEA GLISTEN LIKE JADE
AND MAY THE SHIMMER OF LIGHT GUIDE YOU ON YOUR WAY.
