Got a reply from my latest rainy submission. First it was approved, then rejected, then Snowman told me to remove the jpg image and the thumbs.db from the folder. I don't know about the thumbs.db, couldn't see it. I thought the background I used was offensive, it isn't. I would never do that. I'm curious however as to why it did not meet guidelines though. It was my first try at a glass rainy.

In Explorer...tools...folder options...view....click 'show hidden files and folders'.

Thumbs.db is a file which contains the preview 'thumbs' that Explorer displays when you browse a folder...and can be quite huge.

In this case it is almost the largest file in your Rainy...and is not needed at all, as is the jpg preview image you enclosed.

Remove both and the rainy becomes quite a bit smaller as a download....and no loss of function...

Ohhhhh...didn't know that. Question though...it didn't make it to the gallery. I thought perhaps something wasn't right with it. I'm curious to know why exactly. Anyway...thank you for the heads up. Btw...isn't the preview required so that people can see what they are downloading or at least viewing.

From what I can tell, you included the preview in the download file, it doesn't need to be in there. You only need to upload the preview for the preview in the upload page, not within the file itself.

I opened folder options, view, show hidden files and folders. No thumbs.db shows up in Oval Glass folder. I'm not sure what's going on with this one. All my other rainies I've uploaded without so much as a hiccup. No problem with thumbs or anything. Why only this one? Folder size is 46.5kb. There is no thumb.db in it. Only the png background, buttons and ini file...that's it.

OK...take your latest Rainy....'moon walk'

Total upload size... zip = 358,272

thumbs.db...60.416

moonwalk collection.jpg [enclosed too]....81,245

With those 2 files deleted... zip = 248,360

That's a relatively big one cos it has more than one colour.

In folder options...make sure you check 'show system files'..as from memory that's needed too....to get to the thumbs.db. ...

Thanks Jafo.I'll do that. Hey Kitty got one just for you in progress.Removed thumbs.db and preview. Jafo...you da man. Never knew about that. Now that I do I'll make sure that I do this before submitting any more. Hope you're ready Kitty.

Oh...btw...I'm gonna try to resubmit Oval Glass...just to see if it worked.
