New smilies for the forum

please replace the current ones

Dear mods,

I have taken the liberty to create new gif ones (that are the ones that are displayed in the posts) from the preview ones (they are in png format), but this time with the correct tranparency settings and stuff, since i can“t stand the white borders on all the smilies.

Could you please replace them?
They are the same size, same pictures, same names, just better looking ;)

Left is the current one, right the new .gif
Its not much to ask, is it?

The first one is the one used by the preview template (if you make advanced posts or click the smiley button, the second one is the one actually inserted in your posts.
For smileys there is really no reason to use png, it just takes up unnecessary space, you just have to make your gifs with the right settings :P

my smiley pack replaces the gif ones (the ones with the white border), this is easier to do than changing the forum code to the png ones, you just have to replace the files on the server.

the problem is that stardock uses 2 forums templates.

The one we see thru sinsofasolarempire.com and the other from here (link to this post) https://forums.stardock.com/?forumid=412&aid=169959#1389695

So the smilies have to have a transparency to work for both, which the png does have.

So lets make it a request for this to be fixed then :p

The trouble is that png transparency isn't properly supported by IE6, which a lot of people still use.

There *are* two different sets of smilies (white and black background), it's just as multi says, someone seems to have swapped them accidentally during an update.
