Metaverse: My in-game score was 1800 but only "132" gets posted?

Any ideas why? Why is what's getting posted on Metaverse different from what the end of the game score is?

This was my first time posting to Metaverse, so it's not averaging lower scores for me.

Well, while I'm at it, it simply showed me my "132" and dumped me out, at which point I look to see if it even posted, but 2 hours later...nothing. Ideas? :notsure:

By the way, the 1800 came from a cultural victory, Painful difficulty, 5X5 map.

There are two scores...theres the game score you get when you get the final analysis with the graphs...I had one of those at 9000 something. This isn't the same as the Metaverse score for which mine was 192 for the same game.

So far no one knows how either is calculated that I've seen.

The metaverse score SEEMS heavily weighted in favour of galaxy size... the game score seems to weight various things like population, tech researched/lead, economy more. But I have no equations I can give... :(

Also, wars fought i.e. enemy ships being destroyed is a heavy hitting factor in calculating Metaverse score,as far as we know.

Make that ***VERY*** heavily weighted towards galaxy size. A game of the same difficulty level will be about 30x higher on gigantic vs tiny. Kinda kooky since for me at least the larger the map, the easier it is to win. Had a cakewalk on gigantic produce a 3500+ pt game and a real knuckle-biter on tiny give me ~130pts. ;)

Best plan is to just not worry about the metaverse scores and enjoy the games. I know I enjoyed my painful/tiny game a heck of alot more than the painful/gigantic one... :)

I don't have that luxury. I'm the Emperor of the second-biggest Empire around here, and I have made it my mission in life to beat those pesky GammaSquaders back to information age. ;p

I also find it weird i can win on normal level on a small map, and only get a 100 points, and i can play on large on subnormal and get 4 times the score, even though it was a piece of cake to win

Well, since I fought *no* wars in my cultural victory! Hmmm, in some ways, if you ask me, winning a cultural victory with *no* wars against me on a small map on Painful should be scored pretty high! This should factor in, of course, what the alignments were (it's often pretty easy to convince the Evil not to attack you as good), but how easy that would be, especially considering that alignments change over the game, who knows?

I also think that smaller maps present their own unique challenges and opportunities. On a small map, you've got to squeeze every ounce of juice out of your first few dozen turns or you're dead (maybe not right away, but by losing a few choice colonization opportunities and then falling behind the rest of the civs thereafter...).

Please note: I could really care less about the Metaverse scoring, but it should at least make some sense! :D

Ahhh - a challenge, then?? Interesting this will be, most interesting to see, who back to the information age beaten will bee.

The gauntlet is thrown then, woe to him who picks it up! (my shakespear is a little rusty here, hehe)

May the best empire be left standing and the ohther a smoldering ruin of "Has-been" and yesterdays news!

OK, even Yoda spells better than that. "Bee"??? ;p

Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war... and remember, the fault, dear Razgon, is not in our stars but in ourselves that we are underlings.

So when we squish you under our boots, it'll be your own fault. ;)

LOL - ok, first brick has been thrown now, hehe :)

this is going to be a fun place in a few weeks - clan feuds carrying over into the real world, people trying to tear each others eyes out, while screaming - die you drengin scum!

oh well, end of the world had to have a reason ;)

"'die you drengin scum!'"

If I ever hear that in the real world I will probably double over laughing. And hey -- when we beat you, there won't be any hard feelings on our side, at least. ;)

That said... I'll lay down a wager now. If GammaSquad is still beating the GoneGolders in a month, I'll buy any GammaSquader in my part of the world a beer.

"...just be sure to play on huge maps and blow up lots of stuff!..."

I'm still hoping the Metaverse scoring gets tweaked so my pacifistic cultural ways get more credit. :)

Guess we need to have a trash-talking forum as well, eh? ;)

Nice to see a little good-natured rivalry going on anyway...
