how can I invade a minor race planet?

hello,

I just got the game, and enjoying it.

there was 2 yellow stars that I really wanted to colonize (both had a good planet), however one of the yellow stars suddenly got colonized by a new minor race. So I decided to create a fleet and invade.

My fleet consists of 4 corvettes and 2 transports (one with 600, the other 500 million troops) and it has reached the planet, which seems to only have a colony ship and 2 freighters has defense.

I'm not able to invade, attack... nothing. How can I do it?

In the demo game, I managed to attack a planet.. it was simple, select the ship and attack, even a dialogue box poped up and wanted me to confirm the declaration of war.

anyway, it's frustrating that I can't attack, can anyone help?

You invade the same way you invade a minor planet. Build a transport, or a combat transport, launch it (you'll then be prompted with how many of your population you want to load), and either stack it in a fleet and await more transports or send it to the minors system. Prior to invading (sending in your transports), you must destroy any orbiting ships. With your fleet in position, you'll have to send in the "Warships" PRIOR to sending in the transports. This means you'll have to break up your fleet into combatants and non-combatants. Good luck!!!

NOTE: The maximum capacity for a transport is 1 million, for a combat transport it is 5 million.

By the way, if you haven't checked out the empires forum yet, I'd encourage you to do so. Joining an empire will really enhance your experience with the game and the forums. Lot's of strategies, tips, advice, and more...

yes I am a sinatra fan... Don't know about evangelion, though the name seems familiar. the fly me to the moon song seems to creep up on me when i'm involved in space themed things...

thanks for the help, i figured it out after reading a bit about "non fleet combats" (such as in moo, etc). worked great, and I won my first battle

Congrats on winning the battle. Any other questions just ask. I have only been playign and submitting scores for about a week. Definetly check out the empires. I wish I had joined alot sooner!
