We've added a couple of new features to the messages boards:

1) Quoting.  You will notice a couple of new icons and the bottom of each post.  The "Q" button is used for quoting.  Just highlight the text you wish to quote and press the Q button and your test will be placed into the editor with the appropiate quoting tags.

2) Watching Threads.  You can not watch a thread.  Click on the magnifying glass to watch a thread.  When a new reply gets posted and email will be sent to you notifying you that the thread has new activity.  Also there is a link (Show My Watch List) at the top of the page that will show only the posts that you are watching.

3) A "Show My Posts" link has been added to the top of the page.  This will only show posts in which you have created.

4) The Search Bar has been added to the SDC Messages as well.

I am getting an oddity when using the SDC "Web Browser" (I don't know if this happens on IE, MSN8, or Netscape) - when I submit a post I get a white screen witn nothing but a "0" in the upper left corner.

And - with SDC and its browser getting better and better, will we be getting a spell checker soon?

Another thing I would like to see is some positive indication that an action is still being processed. (Netscape has it's comets flying in its icon in the upper right corner and IE has its twirling world.)

I just tested the problem I mentioned in post #28 on Netscape and it fails there as well, in the same way. This post is a test from IE.

The problem in my post #28 fails on IE as well. This is a test from MSN8. (The post DOES get posted in spite of what shows up on my screen.)

The 'Q' button only works under Interenet Explorer. As a result, you will have to type in the quote manually.

To do this, first type "[", then "quote", then "]". Copy and paste the message, followed by "[/" and "quote]".

(Don't type the quotes. :))

HI I can't seem to edit my post anymore. This is a problem for me at the moment. :(

This is wierd I can edit this one . . . but not past ones. No little Pen and Pad symol on those ones. "Oh shsit" I remember now . . . you only get 15 minutes to edit any post.
Well, I have been asked to edit a post by some dude and I can't . . . pluck!

Feature Request:

I would like an icon on the thread list to show which threads I have posted in.

I second that (finding it hard to navigate to all my silly submissions lately). Oh also the number of pages view for each thread (i.e. 15 or is it ten at a time?) seems a bit small (we are growing!). Otherwise it's all great! :)

Found an interesting forum bug:

I found myself in an intermediate state where I could post forum messages, but couldn't submit my vote to polls. It's very strange.

The bug may be caused two different sets of forum cookies expiring at different times, and is likely to reoccurr again for me on August 30, 2003.
