Banned for calling me harsh, though i know i am sometimes and needed to tell ppl your mature and get praise for it

but yeah we were talking in my social studies class before the end of the school year (again the teachers cool he doesnt lecture and we debate certain topics occaisonally) about war and one of the points that i brought up was we're all human so why must we kill me each other? we're all equal- give me an answer to that that doesnt invlolve power

Banned because while we are equal, yes that much is true, we are all "gifted" in a different way, and that leads to jealousy, fear, etc., which leads to war. For example, Africans are "gifted" in that they get the most charity in the world.  America is "gifted" in that we are the sole remaining superpower, and have the best standard of living. 

Also, we are all equal, yes, but some (Hitler, Stalin, Mao, the Slavedrivers of the 1800's South, etc.) are deluded into thinking their better than someone.  It's who are are born to be, but what you become to be.

 

There, that mature enough for ya yet?

Banned for insulting suckish movie...and ok try this one, through research and diplomacy and philosophy we unite our planet under one banner and set up a democratic republic. (like the USA) we expand into space and reach out beyond the stars forming an solar empire. living by a strict moral code we find a planet full where colonists have turned the research we used into evil, advancing themselves through twisted experiments. we banish them and go on to a age of peace, wiping out war and living in a golden age. then war returns in the form of a civilzation that could destroy us all, then the people who we banish return, forcing us into a disastrous war. whhat should we do?

@ Koda0^ Starship Troopers was written before my father was born (early 50's) and is still very useful in explaining human nature and warfare in less than 200 pages. And does a much better job than many namby-pamby pacifist white-tower brainiacs

Ah, a piece from the SoaSE: Storyline, huh? This ought to take a while: a-HEM!:

 

Living under said "strict, moral code" has turned our empire into perfectionists, and we are too self conscious and so we cannot accept that these "sinners" could possible have anything to do with what we want our descendants to see us as, so we eliminate them simply because they are too different. 

Now, for the war part, the simple, obvious answer that the TEC is too stubborn and proud to do is diplomatic conferences, and therefore, peace.  No war is just fought to be fought, everyone has a resolve, so we could find out what the Vasari's resolve is, and make peace with them. The Advent would be more difficult, but by offering them resources, their ancient homeworld, and a home in the new "World", we could easily stop the senseless bloodshed, and build a new "World" together, out of the one we destroyed.

 

Anything else, Mr. Enquirer (I only have 10 minutes left, so please make it fast)

there is a civilwar going on. each side is fighting for what they believe is the right side. the red and blue factions are both parts of the same people but blue believes that red is oppresive and feels that they fight for equality and red believes that they fight for order and that th blue are terrorists. which side is right. NOTE: they will not compromise with each other

Both factions continually fighting without diplomatic intervention w/ equal pwer hmm..?

Well, I would have to say that the civilians on both sides would see the violence, chaos and disruption that their sides are causing, and the civilians would eventually stop producing the goods the armies need, and both sides would be forced to co-exist with one another.  The beliefs in this case do not matter, as, eventually, the civilians on both sides will believe the fighting needs to stop in order to protect their (remaining) loved ones.

 

Be back in an hour or so...

EDIT\\ If each side is fighting for what is right, and there is no diplo. intervention, then, as stated above, both would eventually abondon their proud, stubborn ways, and nurse their relations and wounds.  If one side one, the other could flee to another country, or simply view both sides of the card, and live thier life with views shifting between what they believe, and what they're told to believe.

Not my best, but I'm starting to forget what you're asking me in these situations...   Be back in an hour or so. I'll tell ya when.

Im asking you to prove your mature your still getting there but try this one: same situation as the one i gave you above (red vs blue) but this is total war and the civilians on both side will fight no matter what (like japan in WW2 theyd kill themselves rather than surrender) which side is correct? which side is doing the right thing/ fighting for the right thing?

your last statement was good but i forgot to specify it more
