Metroid is all about lore (you have to scan every single enemy, every single object, etc. and it will display information about the character/enemy/object, it's history, etc.). The movie is currently in development by Retro Studios and a release date has not yet been set.
So then, there technically isn't a movie to compare with yet.....
Ithink it would probably be better to use Fusion or Corruption (she has a way better ship and it shows all of the pirate and GF ships), as opposed to echoes, but ok.
Don't think it really can be compared:
Metroid
game
1 main character
hardly ever spends much time in a spaceship
doesn't go exploring just for the heck of it, she's a bounty hunter
Star Trek
TV show (yes, there were games, but they aren't really "star trek")
like 30 main characters (if you count all of the series)
it's all on a spaceship, except for when they go down to a planet to check something weird out
I guess this is pretty much all you can say: Samus's armcannon + GF and Pirates all using phazon (or even without) would totally own phasers and the like. They are both in space... Ship-wise, the GF seems to have a heck of a lot more ships than the Federation, since in corrpution that fleet was like the "9th fleet" or something andit had a lot of ships just in itself. As for enemies, I'd like to see a metroid go after a borg.
As far as influence in the real world, Trek wins, but in the series themselves, Metroid stuff would totally destroy Star Trek stuff.
Not "all on a space ship", DS9 was a space station.
