Windows 8.1 and Start Button Animation

Is there a problem or check box i'm missing to make the animation play correctly on the start button now. Instead of playing 3 frames it only shows the first and fades a dark "square" tile underneath it.

Go into the Start8 config, about page and click check for update. There should be an update which resolves the issue.
