Complete newbie

I've just downloaded the following:

*.dxpack
*.logonxp

What do I need to get these up and running?

I've downloaded them both, OBJECT DESKTOP & LOGONSTUDIO. As I have,

hotdog.dxpack
network1.dxpack
simpsons.logonxp
trashbin.dxpack
welcome.logonxp

Using the LOGONSTUDIO, I loaded the simpsons.logonxp, however, it doesn't display the preview. Tried using welcome.logonxp with same result.

I think you have to rename the files or something to a different format. I'm not sure to what though. I know someone on WinC does though.

Good luck

the extensions as you have listed them look correct.

However, I have heard that there are some logon files which have a logon file withing a logon file . Rename simpsons.logonxp to simpsons.zip and have a look inside. There may be file in there called simpsons.logonxp. If so, just extract and use as normal. If not, then I have no idea...sorry.

ok, I've lead you astray...apologies. Your file is correct. Rename it to simpsons.logonxp and try double clicking it (?) What happens?

Have you had all your other logons work correctly?

when i double click on simpsons.logonxp, the logonstudio application opens and then nothing.

The other file does the same thing, so that too isn't working.

logon studio is a free application so you have the full version already.

This is what you have to do. Start Logon studio, click load and browse to the logon file(.logonxp). select the logon file and click open. That should load it. Not all the logons work properly by double clicking them for some reason. GL.

When you say the old Windows XP logon still shows, you mean the actual logon full screen, right? The graphical one. Not the little logon dialog? Cause if your computer is connected to a network throuhg domain, logon screens don't work, you see instead a logon dialog.

Other than that, I'm dazzled. No idea.

I am currently using the standard windows logon, so I guess this is okay.

I mean the standard logon with XP.
