features make not a skin. however on those skins a 1-2 is a little low, but unless that person is obviously against you he has a right to vote on the skins. By taking away people who vote low for skins you lose the unbiased approach to skins. If more people voted people like this wouldn't matter.

I am not against a bad note, provided that it is objective and Ci it is
a bad note then it would be more constructive to say to me which are
the reproaches.

It would be nice if people would tell you why they voted low, but alas they don't have to. Making them wouldn't help either as it would reduce the number of votes. I will rate them sometime soon when I download and use them. I haven't yet and I don't vote on things I haven't downloaded, or at least I conscientiously try not to. Your latest updated skins do look nice from the screenshots though

Hmmmmm....didn't see anything badly out of place.... maybe one person that I will be keeping an eye on, but overall pretty fair ratings. Don't worry about it too much Xav.

Chances are people can download a skin, something doesn't skin first time round or there is a small glitch, so what do they do.....hit your rate. It happens, as Boxxi said dont worry about it too much

If I had to survive off comments/ratings on my posts (ports), I'd have been DEAD a long time ago. If I like a skin, (or get a request to do one) I just do it. If others don't like it (or just want to be an a*s about it with a bad comment and/or rating (assuming bad isn't deserved)), I don't give a DAMN!

There's a LOT more wrong with this world than a trivial bad vote.

I have to agree with Graypony. I don't let the ratings bother me, except a good rating does make me feel good. I would rather see the download number and know that some are enjoying using my skins. Xav, you have nothing to worry about-your skins are very popular and will be downloaded as long as they are on the site. Trust the moderators, if they see something wrong they will correct it. Also, some people just aren't gonna like some styles, they shouldn't rate it low because of personal dislikes but unfortunately they do. Democracy has it's good and bad points.

BoXXi got the right of it and he is fair and honest in his view and efforts on the site, if he happened to see anything amiss(needing improvement or a bug/glitch with your skins and such he would tell you objectively and if he noticed someone being less than up front he would let them know about it hands down (as would al the admins, wizops, mod's here and all most rever regular visitor to the messageboard and chat)

Don't hold your breath on the ratings and comments too much beyond the constructive comments which help you to improve your skill set. The rest is just Candy, some of it is sweet and some of it is sour as can be, all dumped into a big can and your not allowed to look as it is handed to you

Don't worry Xav73. There are always negative people. Me for example would rate any skin 10 because I'dont know how to create them. For me every skin is a master piece no matter if the visual style is my taste or not. I've tried to create some skins but was always stuck on some points and nobody was willing to explain me why. I have posted my qustions on message board several times but received always the same answer from same people who consider themselves masters because they know how it works: Go to this funny tutorials( which nobody basically understands) and you will see how simple it is. I dont care about bare theory because I'm practical person. How would be to explain it in simple words like 1+1 =2. I know that somebody now would say( Probably some of this big masters) the tutorials explain exactly. No thanks!! A child can't learn walking if you don't show how. Buy a baby a tutorial book!!!

I rate like this: If I like the skin, I give it an 8 or a 9. If I really like the skin, it gets a 10. If I dont like it, I dont rate. This plan works quite well, and gets no one angry.

badblueboy, I don't want to hijack a thread but I want you to know that I sympathize with you, it took me a year to figure it all out. The tuts didn't work, I had to just do everything on my own till I got it right. Keep trying, there's so much satisfaction once you get it.

i rarely follow tutorials, I work from trial and error, but yes sometimes a little guidence doesn't hurt

I know I'm not the norm, but I DO read manuals. Sometimes you would never realize there were certain features if you didn't read the manual.

I also don't like the idea of sounding like a lazy idiot when I ask a question that gets answered RTFM.

When I buy a new vehicle, I read the manual from cover to cover. Like I said, you most likely won't know how to use ALL of the features otherwise. Sure you can experiment to discover SOME of them, but you will undoubtedly miss others.

Xav, I for one have downloaded tons of your WBs and they are terrific. I appreciae all the hard work you put in them and want you to know that I think you do a wonderful job. Please don't let one person spoil it for you. A lot of people appreciate your work. I know I do.
