I really like what Connection Explorer has to offer. However I am not interesting in purchasing Object Desktop and also paying annually.
Will Connection Explorer be offered as a standalone purchase, preferably permanent license?

From what I understand, any new Stardock software will be offer as Stand alone once it get to full release version. Connection Explorer is currently still under Beta/Early version.

I purchased Start11 V2 and I'm interested in Connection Explorer too but I'm on the same boat, I'd rather pay a one time fee to get the software with maybe a small annual fee to get the major versions update like other software developpers do but having to subscribe yearly is putting me off, especially since no other software seems useful to my use case/needs.
I'll gadly purchase it as soon as it comes a standalone software without subscription.
It will become a standalone likely next month-ish depending how quickly translations take to implement across the UI.
However, it will be an annual subscription (we don't do monthly) as the IP data lookup for location plotting is not free and we update that database frequently for accuracy.
Most likely $20USD per year is the expectation right now based on the cost analysis for the uptime of the sever + ai tokens that are included for lookups.

Most likely yes for the first two weeks of availability.
Making good progress, getting all the of the translations in required some rework that took a bit of time.
Should have a near final beta out shortly - still hunting a bug that can cause data to go stale for non-English Windows installations.
I have several of the Stardock applications like Start11 and Fences and others. I really like these applications as I paid once and only need to pay again when there's a major update.
I ran a bit ahead with this new program "Connection Explorer" and was excited to give it a go. However, in my excitement I didn't notice I was paying for a subscription and not a one and done deal. So Ok, that's fine, I should have slowed down and read the "fine print" as it were, that's on me. After reading through this conversation I agree, it's fair for the subscription as it's an ongoing cost to provide the data. So for now I'll just set myself a reminder for about a year from now to re-visit this subscription thing and determine if it's worth it to me to continue. But I do have question - First, I'm old, like antique old. So if I take the long sleep before the year ends how can my wife (assuming she's not sleeping by then too) deal with this subscription? Sorry, just like to have plans within plans so my lovely wife doesn't have to panic when she notices an annual withdraw taking place. Thanks in advance. Also, I know I need to write all this down for her benefit and I have. I also have a very secure data file that she has access to where I've put all the details and login info she could use - so maybe this is just paranoia setting in, but I just like to have all the bases covered. Again, thanks in advance for your help in this regard.
