I agree, arrow keys should move the map, that's the way I like to do it...

My only hiccup was the UI, but when I saw a post that said the DL was 1 Gig, and I had 130 MB, I figured it out. I will say this, of all the relases I've seen, you guys did a great job. I can't see how you guys are doing at retail, cause we only have a wal-mart and BX here, and the BX doesn't carry PC games, and I don't shop at Wal-Mart (I boycott Wal-Mart due to various reasons) This game has been a vast improvement over the original.<br
I'm using Inspiron 9300 with a 256 card and a gig of ram... (I bought near top of the line specs for it- was thinking Civ IV at the time, but the specs for GC2 and Civ 4's high end settings are almost identical) I use a $40 heatsink from Antec- Generally, playing the game, I run 55 celsius on the RAM, about 50 on the CPU. I've had 2 CTD's so far, but both have been due to documented features, not the video card. While that's
Maybe they're all hung over from the release party they're having now... Really sucks for me, as when I get it, I'll have to go to work in 2-3 hours...
Well, I'll get it, then have two straight days of 12-hr work shifts where I do nothing for 8 hrs of it but have to sit around anyways...
I'd suggest a bonus towards researching a tech involved in the making of the ship, rather then a free tech. If you have a working example, you can make a cheap copy fairly quickly if you have the basic know-hows.
Are the AI's balanced in this in general. I know in GC1 the Yor often suffered. Also the humans not getting Cartography- does that make their AI weaker, or do they get a bonus to make up for it?
I like that idea. Ship capture/surrender opportunities should be rare. I don't even think the Drengin would shoot someone up who surrended- too valuable as POWs plus ship usage. I'd say only in cases where the last ship has 1hp should there be a chance of surrender, to keep it rare. That would also help to prevent big ships from being captured as much, just the corvette-class ships mostly.
work, occasaional Kaillera game.
Is there a way to toggle random alignments and AI personalities in the game? That is something I'd definitely want for Sandbox.
Other options I'd want: Fleet Tactics: You could tell your ship how you wanted it to determine which ship it attacked Choices: 1) Worst- the easiest ship to kill 2) Best- the most dangerous shit in the fleet 3) Special- aim for special ships like transports or freighters Also I'd create an escort module for ships, that would allow certain to override orders and take the attacks for bigger ships, so you could ha
Stardock is on record saying that Starforce is not a good idea for them, as they think they'd lose more sales due to hassle then lose due to piracy. Personally, I think the people who are truly hassled just get a crack anyways when it's done- like I did with Civ IV. That being said, Stardock's lack of nuisance causing is a factor in what I buy- I avoid games with excessive copy protection- though most of them are EA games, and I boycott that compan
Stardock replaced Timegate (for KAG- then again, they're probably going to be a one-hit wonder studio I think after how badly Kohan II bombed, with good reason) in my case. I'd love to see Stardock and Timegate work together on a new Kohan game as the fantasy project , but that will never happen.
Just curious- does stardock get more money if you pre-order to them instead of going through a distributor? I believe so, but there may be some contractese. If I'm paying money- I want the people responsible to get it, not some middleman. Maybe it's just the anti-corporate in me speaking.
I'm curious about something- you said it was a 2 CD game, but the download is only 135MB. Unless the small pack is at least 5 times the size of the regular, how is this a 2 CD game?
Oh well, was hoping to be able to play the game on the morning of the 21st, but at least I won't be DL'ing for hours that day. Hopefully the files will be up by Fri.Night this week so I can DL the stuff while I am working 12 hrs...
\Multiplayer games have been historically ridden with cheaters using little programs to gain supremacy over their opponent. - not a problem in MP games of this genre. I hate that!! Ruined America's Army for me and I loved that game! Next thing you have to think of are the hang-ups and disconnects. How difficult and frustrating would it be to play a 4X game online to have it disconnect in the middle? -there's PBEM optio
I wish I could do that, but they'd court-martial me instead... SIgh, I'm going to have to leave my laptop on all night it seems that night. At least I get a three-day after the following night. Night of the 20th would be really nice though, and I don't think people would freak over 1 day.
Just about ready- trying to get a clarification on what the exact estimated date/time is. I'm in a bit of a rush on the matter due to my work schedule. I have to go into work that night(1900-0700 local)- so hoping to DL it the night before- since I work 12's the next two nights. Is 12:01am CST of the 21st a good estimate?
How hard would it be to add a PBEM option to Galciv2? I don't know if true MP would be a good thing, but PBEM with 2-4 people and a bunch of AI's would work well. My only concern is some strats would end up being MP-only and some SP-only. That being said, I do understand why MP isn't in GC2- and the emphasis should be on SP, since that's 90% of your marketbase. However, if a fairly easy MP mechanic can be included, it should be. I don't think PBE
You could always give the ships to him, then they'd be in his range... I guess you could theorize the limitation in differences in life support, technology, standardization of parts...
With all the recommended requirements, but a 1.86 Processor on a laptop, what settings should I use graphically (256MB graphics, 1GB RAM)
I'm going to need the download servers as is... Perhaps opening at Midnight would help- not many are up then... (or even 10pm ET on the 20th)
This is a bit of a bizarre question- but when will it be avaliable on the 21st?
