I've tried everything I can think of. Made sure Im using the right windows skin. the latest version of Dreamscape, checked that every desktop enhancement coice is enabled and that the service UxSms is running. Using a 4870x2 ATI PCI-e card and latest driver. Still any triggered dream I get the dreaded mssg that Uxsms is needed for it. Regular dreams run perfectly its just triggered ones that act up. Doubt it makes any diffrence but just in case I am running Vista x64.

okay well I'll address things 1 by 1 1. The service is set to Automatic and is always running 2. I have a rating, its 5.9 3. I have Areo/Windows Vista theme applied 4. I have "Enable Desktop Composition" checked, actually have every option checked hehe Regular dreams run just fine, its only the themes that use transitions, time of day controlled changes such as Denali and Blissful Dream , that give me an error concerning Usxms mssg. EDIT: T
Actually meant to post back, the problem seems to have solved itself must have been a fluke or something as all is working fine now
Hummm, I'm running Vista x64 and am having an error pop up when ever I try to use a dream that does transisions complaining that service UxSms needs to be running. If I pull up taskmanager and check services it is running. When I run services.msc my service for UxSms is also called "Desktop Window Manager Session Manager". I know several other posters have claimed to have the same problem with the latest version of Deskscape so I wonder if the Win7 fix will also be needed for those of us
Any word on an update? I downloaded another Dream that does changes based ont the time of day and its also giving me the dang error mssg even though the service is running. Having actually paid money for the one dream and having this problem is kind of annoying[e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
I just purchased a subscription with VistaDreams.org which came with your program DreamManager which I really like. However I'm running into a bit of a problem. I installed the program on my Vista x64 system and it ran great. I chose the option to put the icon in my system tray and all seemed fine. Then I had to reboot because of something else. Anyway on reboot I no longer have the tray icon. If I pull up taskmanager i
Humm, I just ran into this bug this morning. I had decided to buy the Blissful dream and everything "seemed" fine. I am using the Areo theme on Vista x64. Anyway my screensaver was running and then all of a sudden the screensaver was interupted and that took me back to my desktop where I had the pop up about the service not running. Launched Services and the service was listed as Automatic and running. Figures all the free Dreams I've used, like the rotating earth Dynamic Th
Just wanted to make sure before I installed it that its compatible with Vista x64.
I downloaded the tool and it found tons of Mpeg-2 codecs including one from Sonic plus I also have WinDVD 9 Plus which can play mpeg 2 files so not sure why on my system I just get a black wall paper :( Hopefully when I switch from XP to Vista 64 it will work on the new system.
So will the latest drivers from ATI now allow DeskScapes to run on a system with an ATI/AMD AGP card? I'm in the driver beta program and the last time I gave Deskscape a shot, a while back, it just caused nothing but problems for me and I had to use a sysrestore point to get my computer working right again.
Thank you for the wiki link, it solved my confusion. I kept trying to apply the darn theme's by using the theme section of properties. now I understand how to change things and that its under Appearence that I can make the changes LOL
no matter how I try I can't figure out how to apply the encounter tabbed skin. Could someone please post exactly how one can appy it? I really am feeling stupid that I can't figure this out myself
Just wondering if there is some way to download all the apps at once to a folder so I can burn them to a cd or possibly get a cd via stardock that has the most recent versions on it so when I upgrade to my new computer I have everything handy.
any word on a version of OD Plus that will support Vista X64?
[quote who="Zargon0225" reply="19" id="1944861"] I also just read a post in DeskScapes for XP that suppoet for AGP video cards isn't yet available. Is this true? Correct, here is the long answer. We have been working with the video card manufacturers to improve performance running dreams with low CPU utilization on AGP cards. At this time we have had success obtaining driver updates that perform very well on AGP 8x. These driver updates have n
NM, I see the new version of Dream that supports XP is now avail. Plan on upgrading to a new Vista 64 system soon but nice to see it now on my old XP box
So for those who already have ODN Ultimate 2008 when will the new version and the version of dreamscapes that works with XP be available?
Well I'm just about rdy to switch to my new computer and am just wondering something. Are their any of my ODN apps that won't work with Vista 64? There is one I use alot, Rightclick, and from what I can tell it isn't but not sure if thats the case or not.
Are there any issues I need to be aware of before I upgrade to a new computer that has Vista 64 bit installed on it? I currently use the Gloss burgundy theme trough My colors and would like to keep using it after I upgrade but from what I can tell My color only seems to support Vista 32 bit version :(
Are there any issues I need to be aware of with ODN software before I upgrade to a new computer that has Vista 64 bit installed on it?
Is there a way to backup or save my current Rightclik setup? I'm planning on updating to a new computer with Vista and would like to save the menus and shortcuts I have in my current rclick menu so I don't have to recreat everything from scratch
I, as well as many other XP users, that got the free My color Halloween theme don't get the cool skeleton animation on our start menu. In a thread in the My Color forum someone said we would need a newer WB thats in testing. Would really like an eta on when it might be coming
its very fustraiting isn't it. I hear xp users need a newer version of WB thats being tested. I figure with my luck it will come out on Nov 1 LOL
weird. Im running XP and all my files are called Halloween not Rip 2007 NM, your talking about a diffrent them than I was thinking of, hehe
While better alignment may be good in general it wouldn't solve the problem for me as I'm not using any of the apps mentioned
