what I want to know is, if it will be possible to upgrade the creeps with gold or if we will just have to wait XX minutes for the stronghold to upgrade itself like it does now??

My similar issue with the hammer ability is that you can't target anything in front of the Rook since he is so huge and we don't have a way to rotate the camera (that I know about. PLEASE let me know if there is a way!!) to be able to view in front of you to help aim the hit so that it will be accurately placed. That is the one thing that makes me mad when playing against the AI rooks.
I searched with no hits, so here is a new post. I would like to see waypoints added to the game. When playing that are times that I want my Hero to take a specific path that isn't a straight line. However I don't want to have to click (wait for him to arrive at the point) click to the next spot (wait), and rinse and repeat. It would be nice to be able to shift right click to add waypoints and/or attack commands to help reduce the tedious micromanaging
after playing the games several times, I would like the WASD to control the movement of the camera (forward, backward and left to right) with the a camera rotation when the mouse is pushed to the edge of the screen. It has been a pain in the Arse to get the Rook's Hammer ability to hit in front of him, because you can't see that part of the circle!! [e digicons]X|[/e]
This is a great idea. One thing I would add (which may or may not make it a recipe) but maybe require certain peices in order to obtain a certain path. For example, if you want to upgrade one of the gloves to receive a certain Armor bonus you need a specific Ring. If you want to add speed, or energy, it requires a separate ring. This makes the decisions harder because you are ultimately choosing a path that has consequences and a set of actions with it
I don't really mind no mini-map. I quick zoom out and then back in is more than enough for me to get an idea of what is going on. I do agree that the most annoying thing is the camera controls. There is another thread here discussing the WASD vs. Arrow movement. The more I play Demigod the more I like the fact that WASD would (for some, like me) allow more continual play and not have to be consistenly moving my hands around the keyboard.
innociv, I have to partially disagree with your last comment: +build damage skill for Rook like mentioned in the article. That sounds fine, but why would I pick it over +damage to players? That is where the difference and uniqueness happens. What if I want to be a building smashing fiend and don't really need to worry about the lesser things. I have allies attacking the creeps w
First everyone has their own personal opinion and playing style. So for WASD lovers they want it, for WASD dislikers they want the point in click. It's like trying to convince a democrat or republican that the other party is better, it isn't going to happen no matter how right you may be. My .002 cents is that I agree with innociv that WASD is a very good way to control characters. I have played a lot of WiC, RPG's, and RTS's and frankly I like
I am attempting to update to version 1.96 through impluse, but when I click on udpate it asks me that the prgram has to be uninstalled and that if I click 'OK' it will uninstall. I click it at which point, it tells me I am missing one or more files and that I should be connected to the internet (which I am) before proceeding or try add/remove programs. However only Gal Civ2 is there none of the expansions are present in the list. I can't see where I can possibly download the i
I frankly think spamming is simply a noob (regardless of how much they play) strategy that doesn't require complex thinking and is a simple solution that in my opinion and experience has never been an effective strategy. In fact I no longer build more than my free cap ship because I loose capital ships too fast with missile frigate spammers. I just invest them in a balanced fleet of heavy cruisers, flaks, reg. frigates, and missile frigates. Basically, a balanced fleet. In the last g
My recommendation is to keep the current tech structure but have the tax fluctuate down one step if your fleet size is less then what the current step provided in fleet logistics value in the current step. For example, If I am at level 6 in my supply which gives me say 800 points and the difference between step 5 and 6 is 200 additional supply points. If I have more than 200 supply points available (which means that I have lost ships since the upgrade), I would pay the step 5 upkeep c
Norfleet, If you have an economic treaty with another empire your trade ships will travel through "enemy" space using the shortest route possible. You can loose quite a few trade ships this way. As far as the semi off topic subject of longer = more money. It is a lot more complicated than longer routes = more money is true or not (from a real world economic stance, anyways). supply and demand are inverse or opposite of each other. As the price rises supply will in
I totally agree with OP on the zoom. I HATE it when I zoom in and all of a sudden my screen starts moving with a unit. Especially when I am trying to focus target a ship or place an ability.
You can always have a "5th player" who hosts the match. Once the game starts have him surrender, but watch the game. That way the computer is still hosting the game, but no additional resources are used by the computer since the fifth player isn't actually playing. Not sure if this would work, but it seems logically possible.
I humbly disagree Megavolt. I don't disagree with the numbers. I disagree with your opinion on the validity of pursuing the tech and when it is applicable in battle. If I have a balanced fleet consisting of heavy cruisers, assailants, and carriers, the cruisers will work on the shields while the assailants and bombers do a 60/40 (in your example) shield/hull mix and the cruisers doing 100% shield damage. Since most of the ships are balanced that way with shields/hull points,
I have seen and done this on several occasions. I always max phase missiles. You are correct in that not all of the damage hits the hull, but the more research you do the more damage is done to the hull vs mitigation against the shields. I have always started with the missile cap ship as it annihilates the militia frigates guarding planets, especially the cobalts as they have shields. Phase missiles are extremely important playing against the Advent. Advent [B]are[/
Have you ever played GalCiv2 mtn man? Random events are fun and can jump start or derail your activity in the game. It would be great to have random things happen. Perhaps create a civ tech that allows you to be warned of an impending event on a planet. Similar to enemy phase jump techs in the game. Solar Flares, asteroids (NPC character that can be destroyed and acts like a siege unit), "space Worms", etc.
it would be nice to be able to have ICO save our passwords and username.
The mechanics of a dynamic multiplayer game are possible (check out World in Conflict or any MMORPG). The question is if it is possible for ICO to continously monitor each game's status (e.g. unit position/movement, planet's held, number of players allowed/in-game, number of slots available, and resources) and have that updated in real time so that if there is a spot open a player can then join and continue without missing a beat. There is a lot more information in SOASE that needs to be conti
I commend Ironclad and Stardock on their development of this AI. For any RTS'er that has played Starcraft, Warcraft, AOE, EaW, and pretty much any other modern game in a multiplayer setting, you know that players come up with these rushing tactics for early game winning. Why not program the AI to be smart enough to mimic human behavior? Isn't that the end goal. After all we are programming an artifical intelligence that is made to survive. I mean what would be the point of
My .02 cents is that your strategy and how you play game may draw out the game. I can attest to xboxerdude's gameplay. my ICO login is caboaddict. The game was about an hour or so in when xboxerdude came at me with 4 capital ships and very few frigates. I won't embarass him too much with what the outcome was of our battles. needless to say the amount of resources spent on research and building of the 5+ capital ships could have gotten you a much larger force a lot sooner i
If you purchased the game you should have received an email from Stardock with the details of the purchase and the CD key for you product. Just copy and paste the key from the email into sins ICO login screen and away you go.
