Sola Scriptura well I knew that...but I was wondering which verse? Cuz I didn't interpret just put them down and they speak for themselves. My question to you would be......have you ever sat down and read the gospels yourself? Not the whole bible just the gospels? Grace & Peace<B
KFC Kickin For Christ
Hi Doc, Well I sat down with my dog-eared bible and looked thru each and every verse you gave me above in context. Some kinda go together so I put together. Now remember my original question was for you to show me in scripture where the Pope is infalible in his ex Cathedra position. I don't see any of these verses do that but here goes anyhow. Matt 10:2- The listing of the 12. The 12 are always listed in similar order. Peter is
KFC, please stop taking my replys out of context. Your defense of hurling your interpretation of scripture, as it suits you, is insulting at best, and offensive at worst. Well I'm not sure what I did to offend you here. You seem very angry. Can you tell me where I went wrong? I went to scripture to a
OK I'll get back to you on the above scripture. Too late now. I'm actually a year and a half just studying John verse by verse. I have a Catholic lady in my study and she and I have no trouble because we are reading it together and using other scripture as needed to shed light on any given passage. I don't consider myself religious per se....just a Christian that loves Jesus. It's not up to me to convert so don't worrry about that from me.
Ok Doc.... ....just remember you instigated this. Are you happy now? Now I'm in big trouble....right?
Hi Nadeon Well Jesus and Paul encouraged all to "search the scriptures." Here's a few of my favorites. " Thy word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path ." Ps 119:105 "Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee ." Ps 119:11 Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly nor stands in the eay of sinners nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight i
Andy.. this one's for you. Ok don't have a real problem with what you said.....tho to me #5 is kinda new agey. But yes most I would agree with here. The only one I'd have a problem with might be the last one. That would be cuz I believe the Prince of Peace is Jesus and not all the world religions view him as God. Before Jesus went to the cross he said in the upper room to His own. "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, <U
Well when I was young and just starting out I worked in an office and overheard the women speaking about the nuns and priests. One of them said that she believed they were so holy they didn't even use the bathroom!!!! She was devestated when she saw one in there. It totally blew her mind. That's the old school and I know tons has changed since then. I would agree with you then that the Pope is human and therefore falible. I do look at t
Ok got a question Doc on this: But it was the Vatican Council I that came up with the official doctrine so any Infallible statements prior to that are argued upon, even though the doctrine has its roots in the Gospels and Paul's letters. I'm really familiar with Paul's letters and the gospels. And I was wondering......where about are you getting this? Cuz I don't see this anywhere. Pllllllllllease don't give me Mat
I guess not sure about the "that" in the question? I also got married at 21!!! But still married to the same guy!! Get this! He was an altar boy and thought hard about being a priest!! But he too left the CC. I did check out your site on infallibility....but didn't want to offend you!! But since you asked........I don't believe anybody Pope or not is infallible even if he's sitting on the special chair. Where are you gettin
Whew!! I'm glad you're on the good side of the military!!! *chest popping out just a bit* My son is going to be commissioned as a Lt in the Air Force upon grauation from VMI.......and he's Mechanical Engineering...so no dummy. He's hoping to get into aeronical and someday be an astronaut. But that's a loooooong ways away.....he's still a baby!! He's not supposed to write on JU cuz it's against the rules to say anything about
awwwwwwh.....gee thanks Doc....lol.......we seem to frequent the same sites!!! At least so far. I've only tried out a couple, yours being one......thanks to HC!! Ya, we come to VA about 3 times a year since all the boys are attending college here. One at VMI, one at VCU until Tulane opens in January and one at Liberty. We love it here and would like to move here one day!! Bought land here, hoping to build one day. We're calling
Hi There, Just found your site....agree totally with this article. I was you a few years back. I was a stay at home Mom while my three boys were growing up. To make ends meet I babysat for three more while my husband was starting his own business. It was an eye opening experience. One of these kids (an only child) was miserable. He knew his Mom was working not because she had to but because she wanted to. His dad made very good money an
Hey Doc, just what was the topic here anyway Sorry,,,,sure it's my fault.... ......guess I got us off track somewhere way back.....this is taking on a life of it's own. Did I say I don't believe in annulments except in rare circums
KFC, thanks for your reply You're quite welcome!! My pleasure. I've been studying this book for more than 30 years and have compared it to many other writings along the way and as you probably know......I'm convinced there's nothing like this. I haven't even begun to make a dent in this. <BR
So he will not cast out someone who has never heard the Gospels, yet still leads a good and holy life, right? What the heck...since I'm on a roll here...... .....well Doc ok if I answer your question with a question? How good is good enough?
1 John 2.2: "And Christ himself is the means by which our sins are forgiven, and not our sins only, but also the sins of everyone." Ok, this is talking about Christ being the only offering that satisfied God concerning sin. God's wrath over sin is satisfied in this sacrifice, the perfect one. Chris
Ok Andy...geeesh did you haveta bring up so many... ......I think I know where you're going or what you are thinking these verses mean....but before I take them one at a time...just a couple of others first to put with what you put down. You haveta reconcile all together when you come up with an answer. What do you think these mean? John 17:9 I pray for them, I pray not for
God is LOVE.....but he hates Sin!! That's the part everyone forgets about.....He said himself....Jacob have I loved and Esau I hate. It's not the person, it's what the person represents. He loves all and is not partial in any way. He accepts all that will come to Him, Jew, and Gentile alike....... and that is the key...those who come to him he will in no way cast out.
Very nice but not biblical. Remember the Jews rejected Jesus? He said if they reject Him, they reject the Father also. It all comes down to one question....."Who do you say that I AM? Also God said in his first commandment..."Have no other gods before me God said to Moses...tell the people that I AM sent you...to differentiate from all the other gods out there. Same today....many gods but only one true God. A famous
This just makes me nervous to some degree. My son about ready to start his new Ph.d program at Tulane got quickly ushered out of his new city only to find himself in Richmond for the semester until Tulane opens up in January. Two of the worst cities in the USA. Guess I should be thankful he's not in Camden.
ok......go for it!!! I'll be back!!!
I have a better idea. Why dont you address it, and then I will comment on it! Ouch!! I knew you were going to say that!!! Maybe I will....
disagree with the quote; if there's a problem with the curriculum it should be changed of if the teacher is truly found immoral, fired This is an idealistic thought. I agree with you but firing teachers and changing curriculum is not an easy thing to do. In the meantime what do you do with your kid i
Yes the God of Abraham and Jesus is the same God...yes, by golly you've got it!!! But not the god of the Muslims and the God of Abraham. God called him away from that telling Abraham to leave Mesopotamia (modern Iraq) where the pagan gods were being worshiped I'm on vaca maybe when I get back I can get you more info.... I've got some really good books from very reputable sources ..... Muslims that have left Islam and have embraced Christian
