Why are they toast? Assumption since I could not start them, let me try again

Thank you for the work. Saved games are toast. Darn shame, I was enjoying this last game, Borg were beating my ass pretty bad :-) Would be nice if steam gave us an option to turn off auto updates or if Stardock gave us 24 hour warning so we could change our download settings.
Horemvore, 1.81 is out, was not able to stop the auto update which really pisses me off ! Will try re loading the 0.3e update to see if I can still access my saved game. The inability to shut down auto updates is a really bad idea for the mod community. EDIT: It is broken, here is the message: C:/Users/wotan/Documents/My Games/GalCiv3/Mods/Star Trek - Star Names/Text/StarNamesText.xml(0,0): error: String collision! String 'DrathOverlord_Dec' and &
Mike, you are correct I do have an NVidia card, swapped out a R9 290x for it since I was having issues with the AMD card. Mostly heat. late night ;-), I edited my post. My PC specs is as follows: Nvidia GTX 980TI Intel core i7 3930K Asus sabertooth X79 MB 32 meg RAM Game loaded on Samsung 850 EVO No major issues with the game since the last hotfix for 1.8, I did have one CTD in my current game but it has not
NVidia on my side, GTX 980TI.
I was able to buy peace with the Tholians but now the Borg, who are too far anyway, have DOW as well as the Klingons. Keeping my own against the Klingons. BTW the Klingons are coming after me with pure missile ships, if cannons are their good weapons it may be useful to give the AI a priority to build those instead. The Borg on the other hand are using balanced ships with massive defenses in the order of 120 to 150 on shield, point and armor defense, they are tough as hell and a
Turn 55 of new game with 0.3e, plays well, diplomacy changes have an impact. Tholians and Breen have DOW me already since I concentrated on benevolent traits. On 0.3d I never got a DOW even after 250 turns. Should be an interesting game, playing the Federation on immense with common everything except resources on uncommon and precursor artifacts on rare to lower the human player advantages in resource exploitation somewhat.
Quoting Horemvore "Well, I do not think the Klingons are "Ancient". So they are losing it, but, The Dominion are Ancient so they get it instead [e digicons]:)[/e] " Might be an idea to compensate a bit on the Klingon tech tree then since the -15% research attribute will leave them far behind otherwise at higher difficulty levels. On another note, I noticed that the Klingons cannot use Antimatter for anything, they have no access to weapons that use it and the
Some points from turn 250 playing the Klingons on gifted with immense map and all abundant. 1. As I said above the new diplomacy model is still a bit overpowered however by this time some of the opponents, Tholians and Dominion have started to turn against me due to my Pragmatic turn in ideology. Now distraught and resentful due to the -14 modifier in ideology choice. Maybe strengthening that would help? make the Malevolent races really hate anyone else? 2. The Klingon attribu
Please don't remove the precursor anomalies but they probably should be less prevalent. Finding one and getting it should be a "wow" moment not just a trivial affair.
Quoting Horemvore: " Did you have Ripe for Conquest active? Or had you nullified it buy having enough ships?" Ripe for Conquest was an issue at first but yes I did do a massive buildup to nullify it. Used the malevolent ideology choices to get me to 100% military production on my home world as fast as possible and then just cranked out the ships. The anomalies and trade with minors kept me afloat economically until i was able to get good cash from my d
Quoting Horemvore " What level did you manage to get the Embassy up to? 12? Did you build Culture bases? And how many?" Embassy is at level 12, and I have 4 fully upgraded culture starbases. I also picked diplomacy boosting choices during colonization events and anomaly results. " Also toying with removing the encounters from Anomalies purely because the AI ignores them, even when they have fleets capable of taking them with no losse
Quote Horemvore" Increased Shipyard Stats:- Hitpoints increased to 350. Beam Attack increased to 24. Missile Attack increased to 32. Kinetic Attack increased to 20. All Defense types increased to 30." Looks good to me. makes them harder to kill with a single ship but still vul
I will try the Klingons again with trading back on but brokering off to see how it influences my game. I really like their ships, always did. With the changes you just made to diplomacy you eliminated the temptation to put an embassy on every planet, very good move, interested to see how that plays out. One idea here would be to fully hide the weapon techs, in the diplomatic screen, an opponent wants to keep secret or just not trade. Even with allies there are always things we
What difficulty level do you play on ? Gifted, usually start there when I am trying out a new AI, never know what will come at me. good thing too, any higher difficulty and I would have been toast a lot earlier LOL Ah yeah, I have that fixed my end(Phaser should not be in there), it is annoying, I will issue a new version. Won't be save game compatible. </
Was at war with the Cardassians and the Breen and kind of holding my own as the Klingon but then the Borg joined in and that was it. By the way I kept getting an error when Breen where using the Polaron. This is what I got: "CParticleElement::ValidateParticleScript FAILED: Missing particle script BeamPolaronPhaserEmissionEffect referenced by FXElement BeamPolaron_EmissionParticle" I could continue by clicking as many times as there were ships and the game
Thanks for the tip on the BORG, I am near them but I was betting on my 6 precursor worlds to help me out of trouble by building big fleets fast so i am trying to zip through the logistics techs. Klingons being slightly behind in tech ability and having tech trading off is a bit of a handicap but just makes it more fun and challenging, i bet if i can last to the mid and late game these guys will definitely be a force to recon with. Right now the Breen have decided ! am cannon fodder so
Just started playing with the mod, so far it is a blast. No technical issues so far at turn 100 on an immense map, genius level with just the mod races included. Couple observations so far: Terraforming seems to be overpowered, after getting the first tech i can terraform entire planets, this is similar to an older mod that was going around last year. it is fun to build these huge planets but it is very OP if the AI cannot make good use of it. It also makes some of the ideolog
Last hotfix has cleared the issue for me. Thank you!!
Thank you!!
Same issue now since the hotfix. game hangs during the AI turns no matter what I do.
Unfortunately the hotfix broke my game, I was able to continue playing after 1.8 by doing everything manually but since the hotfix the game now hangs during the AI turns and nothing i can do there.

It would be very useful to have a strategic map on the planet build screen. On larger maps with abundant planets you can easily forget where a planet is located in your empire and which role was assigned from a strategic point of view. Inner planets tend to have significantly different builds than outer frontier planets so easily seeing the location on the strategic map would be useful. On that subject, being able to assign a planet to sponsor a shipyard straight from the planet
