Man, some very good points here! Overall I love the expansion. But I certainly would vote for invisible mines you can detonate on your own if you choose... This would add really deep strategy... I would keep the mine detection ability with the scouts. You will have to add a couple of scouts to your main fleet additionally with scouts... well, scouting ahead... But they should be able to destroy mines, too. I mean, even if your mines don't cripple an approaching fleet because they dest

Yup, this has been mentioned once in a while... Originally, there was a campaign mode planned. However, due to the rather small team (five? seven? sth like that) they had to make some choices Ok, the devs had three options: 1.Don't publish anything and run out of money while concentrating properly on gaming mechanics AND a single player campaign. 2. rush on and make everything at once and deliver a half made product with bad game mechanics and a fast thrown in

Hello Froschgott! Hm, perhaps it makes sense for you to translate the statement from Kalypso into english, as not everyone can speak german... In short: Kalypso denies any responsibility for the unpublished translated patches. Instead they claim, they can't implement any translations for as long as they don't receive the patches from Stardock... Hm, you can try to contact the support from stardock. However, this statement, from Kalypso is kind of strange... I mean, the

It looks really great... Hm, reading all the posts, I think the developers are having fun, torturing the lot of us... Most probably, they are reading this and think: "Man, guys! If you only knew..." and laughing out loud in glee... First the TEC star base was revealed... Then the Vasari one with the speculated phase gate option... I bet in a week or so, we'll hear about the Advent mind crunching star base...

Hi FatherRobin, I have Impulse and it works fine for me. However, I can understand your reasoning and to a certain degree I even agree with you. If you are really bothered so much by it and still want to play Sins, install impulse once, register your game, get the update and uninstall impulse again (However, Impulse is not ac

I don't play multiplayer because I simply don't have enough time and energy for it. It comes up to perhaps two to three hours of gaming time in one to two weeks, that's all I've got. If I have internet access I ususally play a FPS online because one round takes approx half an hour. If there is no internet access, I am playing GalCivII or Sins in singleplayer mode. The rest of my time is safed for the real life joys and problems...
That is a cool idea HewCP. So cool that we tried it out a loonnng time ago in the early SINS days. We used to play a board game that had revolving planets and we thought it would provide an interesting element in video game form. Unfortunately the reality was very different. The game became very disorientating - transfering the successful player's skillset from strategic decision making to visual aptitude.
Argh... That's sad... Revolving planets whith d
3rd expansion - Call it whatever - full blown SP campaign (perhaps together with an editor)
Yeah, I totally agree. Especialy in combination with a campiagn editor. Not just Galaxy Forge, but a way to add text pop ups for story development (there would be the need for a very basic pop up system like: ship X destroyed or planet Y conquered results in the pop up of text Z, and the choise of two or more possible options in the text pop up leads to the start o
(puts on WoT nerd hat) The final volume of WoT, which will probably be called A Memory of Light, is being finished by Brandon Sanderson, best known for the Mistborn series (though I've not read it). To my knowledge he's of no relation to Robert Jordan, though Jordan's widow (who is also his editor) was responsible for making the choice. If Wikipedia is to be believed (I don't have the time or patience to sift through the numerous blogs), Jordan finished about 50,000 words of what co

Wheel of Time I'm not so keen on: it has some interesting ideas, but repeated and padded out too much. Make too many characters, give each of them one personality trait, one annoying quirk or habit, and one special power. Run through all possible combination in which they might interact to fill 13 books of sodding Naieve tugging her stupid braid. Not epic, relentlessly

The Dragenbone chair series is from Tad Williams (His Shadowmarch series is good, too!) And George R.R.Martin is famous for his Song of Ice and Fire (Which is really awesome!!! My favourite!).
