I thought it was understood (or rumoured) that sins2 would take advantage of all cores and be a new engine...?
Destraex
Like the title says. Ironclads new game has been announced and seems to be in an entirely different genre to SOSE. What is the likelihood they can work on sins2, Rebellion and this new OP heroe beats the average joes game?
Are people really thinking from that tiny clip there will be a campaign story despite the repeated and unwavering assertions to the contrary? Are people really asking if that was in-game footage? I just...I can't fathom... Nevermind... I'm hoping that footage is part of the opening cinematic for the game. It looked pretty good. Now I'm going to hide from the forums again because you people h
Just looking at a Vasari titan ship. It fits with their other ships. But it will put me off playing them. It just does not look like a super capital ship but rather a giant flower or slow moving space turret.
Quoting Destraex, reply 3 Heck it could be that we now get cut scenes for planet invasions and the like. Reduced 60% Original 944 x 530 thats not an invasion, look at the people, they are walking towards the ship
Correct. They are marching like soldiers not civilians. They are loading up onto the ship and will likely invade a planet once they reach
funny I do not remember any new opening cut scenes for the other expansions. But then I do usually skip them after the first watch. What phases me is while that colony ship looks big. It looks nowhere near the size you would need to get enough people down to colonise a planet with enough men to actually expand quickly. I mean the 1000 people or so depicted are going to take centuries to colonise a planet. The ship just does not look large enough.
Very cool. If thats all in game its a great improvement. Is that an in game cut scene I see or just a revised intro? Grand campaign or missions anybody? Heck it could be that we now get cut scenes for planet invasions and the like.
just played a few games and am impressed... but it seems it will be a hair puller and very stressfull to play.
http://cdn.steampowered.com/Manuals/58610/WARGAME-EE_MANUEL-ONLINE_INT.pdf?t=1328906615 Love the game all apart from the fact that sirmish mode is only 1VS1 if you want to use AI
I have pre-download and am playing the multiplayer BETA
reminds me of ruse, close combat and sins really... the scale and detail. http://www.livestream.com/tgapples This looks like World in Conflict meets Ruse and due out this month. The devs of RUSE in fact are the team behind this game. Their are over 300 unique units and the gigantic maps stretch up to 150 km²! I guess it could also be compared in a way to sins of a solar empire. The game is set during the cold
I doubt sins will ever look as good as homeworld2... its a different scale. Homeworld is about one battle in one area. Sins is about entire systems. Thats why homeworld ships have more working parts and more detail.
I actually greatly enjoyed the HW2 campaign. With the new bump mapping and effects mods its insane to play even today. I did miss the fuel consumption and other smaller HW1 details that were not in HW2. I cannot imagine how fine hw3 would be with a modern engine on par with say company of heroes or DOW2...... however major stress I agree with your "dumbing down" concerns. the graphics mod updates textures and shaders etc for hw2. <a href="http://
love homeworld2 and 1. Especially with hw2's graphics and effects mod.
I wonder whether we take cultural effects too seriously. Consider what Vasari especially must be like. It is a time of races cleanly seperated. A time where it is very easy to "run with your own race of buffalo rather than side with the herd of bison facing you". Like china which was closed off for was it thousands of years? In the vasari's case the borders would be closed and racial "survival" the number one instinct. What I am saying is if you are at war cu
Did this contain anything new? I don't think it did?
Stalingrad (old movie but a cult classic, t34s in it) One of the best movies I have ever seen. Feels like Das Boot on land. I believe it has a mkIII panzer. The Brest F
Yeah I would like my pre-order rebellion on steam too if possible.
to me it looks like a new race. An organic race.
those pictures look nothing like what any of the races currently would use. I mean is it a new race? Some kind of vasari chaser?
I'm still in Red ORchestra 2 mode... Can I ask about skyrim: a) Can you fight from horseback? b) Is it Multiplayer? c) Does anybody travel in real unit sizes or is it just the super party? d) Is it every man for himself or is this RPG different to the rest?
love it. BF3 may be pretty.... but this has game play that I do not think it will beat.
good. can we all use our current impulse games on this system? I wanna get out of impulse now that gamestop are in.
I think windows 8 is really intended for tablets and new PC\laptops. I don't think they really expect a huge upgrade volume.
If you can use real physics and your battle scenes are depicted in an intelligent interesting way, I'm sure you will get a following. I love sci-fi novels as well. But usually find the scientific explanation and explanations of why a weapon works or how it works and why tactics are used is usually lacking. Your right. Glossing over battle scenes is like watching star wars... its pretty, but leaves the reader with a hollow feeling. It usually equates to 500 pages that can be written in one
