To the tune of "Me and my shadow" Me and my Yeti strolling down the avenue Me and my Yeti Not a soul to tell our troubles too And when it's twelve o'clock We climb the stair We never knock For nobody's there Just me and my Yeti All alone and feeling blue Me and my Yeti Strolling down the avenue Me and my Yeti Not a soul to
To put it simply, just because Sedna CAN heal, doesn't mean you should EXPECT her to heal you. Too many times have I played and my allies have been taken out, then, no doubt out of frustration, a message appears "Sedna, where were you!", "Sedna, why didn't you heal!", "Sedna, WTF!". To these people, if you have not communicated some sort of plan, please don't expect others to know what you're thinking and follow you blindly. Furthermore, ther
Right. Her heals should be used like Oak's shield ability. To save a teammate from death, denying the enemy DGs gold. That being said, I can not see why a Sedna player would not heal an ally with very low life running to them with an enemy DG or two chasing aftet them. (unless she uses pounce to stun).
Well, keeping your ally from having to retreat has some real perks, keeping them fighting bolsters
I don't see how any other DG could beat a determined Sedna to the award. Then you just get 'I turned up' favour (provided a lot of people dont start playing Sedna to get the new favor award)
There are two other demigods, QoT and Oak who can at least give a shield to everyone else, I think that's at least some other support that players can use. I do think calculating something like this is close to ungodly complex though, and is more l
I think you should give them something like 4 complete games in the demo. I think this is enough for people to get a taste, and get into it (if they're ever going to get into it) and still limit it giving them a relatively complete experience. You could go even higher in the total number of games, and really get them more addicted, but I think a simple limit on the number of launches is probably the way to go. If you do this, make sure noone can crack it so that they can set the number of mul
Quoting theubersmurf, reply 1What I'm getting is, in large games (like 4v4) a good number of players will simultaneously disconnect. like 6 out of 8 players will disconnect at once. All I get a "a player has left the game dialoge. Thats you disconnecting from them.
Why would I be in the game still if my connection went bad?
Quoting theubersmurf, reply 19 While that's all ostensibly true, I've seen it become odd, with no restrictions atl all there are too many instances of...I just want to say lopsided dynamics. I think there should be some restrictions, though it would be complex to figure out what. There are restriction though. Every stat in the game has a hard cap, you can only use one of any item and there are only five equipment s
Quoting theubersmurf, reply 13 It isn't so much an issue of...it's unreality, so much as a lopsided effect it has on the gameplay. It creates very odd dynamics in the game. The OP is really just a sort of excuse to comment on it. You could easily buy five suits of armor, or five helms or whatever in game...I guess I don't like it because it draws away from balance. Impenetrable armor or limitless mana, huge amounts of damag
I must have missed those discussions. I think most of them were on IRC? Pretty early in the beta. I remember asking Eric if they were considering restricting items to 1 per type and he said they looked at it but it probably isn't going to happen. And.. it didn't
oh well, that explains why. meh
It's been discussed a lot in beta, and GPG decided not to restrict items to 1 per category.
I must have missed those discussions.
Well I can think of a really good reason why male demigods would want two helmets when going into battle. And a lady can never have too many pairs of shoes. Thats just a rule. Seriously this has been covered before. When you buy an item you are absorbing the items power into your essence. It has been explained that the maps in Demigod exist outside the mortal realm and the natural laws altered (this is why you respawn instead of die perm
There needs to be a way to concede the game by vote, rather than have people quit.
Well, I think it create a weird, lopsided dynamic to have more than one suit of armor/helm/pair of gloves.
The purchasing of multiple suits (stacking) of armor. Also helms can often be stacked, but really how can you wear more than one suit of armor at a time, or more than one helm?
Taking a flag gives you xp, yes, but there is one problem with it: In order to take a flag more than once, the enemy needs to retake it, thereby yielding them the same amount of xp as you yourself get when taking it back. This is not a good tactic in my opinion. The very best scenario would be to get back to a flag when it is still only neutral in case an enemy tries to retake it. This is extremely time-critical and might be hard to accom
Teamwork: Work in groups, if I hate when new players always do this. They stick with you and follow you flag to flag. If you just spread out and fight on different lanes then you will outlevel your opponenets. When your being 2v1'ed just camp behind towers and protect them. Of course there are times when you have to stick together, but sticking together in one group shouldnt be a rule.
That's not exactly what I mean. More
One tactic that hasn't gotten floated here is protecting your defensive towers in the early game. Too often I see a new player leave an area because they are outgunned, e.g., 2 v 1. Those 2 demigods then proceed to slowly whittle away your defensive towers while farming creep waves. Depending on the map, losing a tower early can have bad consequences. It forces you on the defensive and ends up costing you the contested flags
I'm going to bump this one more time to see if it garners any further support.
Good tips for new players. Although I am yet to see someone actually typing "Their TB is hurt badly, now would be a good time to kill him" instead of "end tb low jhp" or "rape tb".
it usually is much more like that.
