What did you try to do that Vista through a fit about?
I don't think I have the resources to build Capital ships of my own yet
Your first capital is free (: It makes clearing out the small militia at nearby planets much easier in early game. I didn't realize this for several games when I started out. Also - are replays fixed in 1.01? I keep seeing that they go from broken to fixed just about every other patch. If they work now, one of us could post a basic replay to help him out.

I think this sort of extensive information would be very handy to have as a 'unit info' tab, perhaps similar to KKND2. Failing that, maybe one of us could make up a little windows app that reads the game files and shows the values for the particular version.

IC could do something similar to get a cam
this game is about war, survival, and killing.
Let's not turn this into a 'horrors of war' thread; it will only result in making people depressed, guilty, and/or angry. Or worse, political. The other part of the post is requesting to have another way of taking over a planet in the next expansion such that some portion of the population and/or upgrades survive, and I agree that this is a good idea.

Actually, if you stop and think about it, the number of people that suffer violent deaths in this game is pretty staggering. Frigate / cruiser crews, capital crews, colonizer capital crews, civvie structures, tactical structures, starbases, vasari colony starbases. Death of planet-bound colonists by slow poisoning from high-yield nuclear warheads, being sucked into space by the Egg, or slaughtering friends and family in a Revelation-induced panic. It's not called 'Charitable

Well, considering: There is also an active thread about the Vasari starbase (particularly with lots of hangar support) being absolutely unstoppable. I have personally witnessed the TEC starbase with tactical structure support hold off substantial forces. It finally went down from a 1200+ supply fleet, but took them all with it anyway using Final Protocol. I think we'll need to do a lot more playtesting before we can claim that one race's setup is dras

This is an oddity that you could see in regular sins with multiple factories. When producing multiple units, the calculation is correct in that you can build as many units in parallel as you have factories, but which factory is building which unit will appear to change when one unit completes. If you look carefully, the "progress" of a unit will appear to waterfall down from factory to factory until it completes. This also means that if you watch one factory after queing multiple items it wil
