Yeah - some people already have their own icons. It would be really nice if Wincustomize supporters could have their own icons too. I must admit, it would be an added incentive for me to support the site if I could have a personalized icon (as some people already do).

paxx, Yes, I have downloaded MP3s off the 'net. But you know what? If I really like the music, I THEN go out and buy the CD. If I don't, well, guess what - since I don't like it, I'm not going to listen to it, and so I delete it off my machine - no sense in having something I'll never listen to take up space on my hard drive. If you are looking for the opinion of one user on the ratings system: I like the ratings. I don't make the decision to download a skin exclusively based on ratings (some highly-rated skins just don't have a look or style that I like) but they do help to guide me towards which skins I might look at first, if my time is at a premium.

Although I have worked as a graphic designer, a web designer, and a web developer, I have still not mastered the art of skinning. So, personally, I do not think skinning is easy. I am thankful for all the wonderful skinners out there who create such beautiful skins for us to use, and I try to leave a comment whenever I run across a skin that I end up using a lot. Anyhow, all that to say that although there may be more skins out there right now, the quality skins are still rare, imho.
I think a lot of people don't like debating because it reminds them of high school or university courses where you were given one side of an issue (whether you believed in it or not) and had to engage in a debate. I remember one particularly pointless debate we had in a French class, where we were debating showers vs. baths. Yes, it got us to practice our French, but it felt silly to defend something so pointless.
