Thanks for the response, I read the manual but probably not thoroughly enough. Glad to see it's not intended to work the way I feared. @ jakanc & Fuels Chief: Thanks for the show of support!

Still playing with 0.81a.007, I wonder about the following issue: Why is it that military production can be left idle without paying for it (which is a very good thing IMO), but you always pay for the social production regardless of whether the planet actually builds something or not? I'd suggest to handle it similar to military production: Allow social production to run idle (which happens fast enough when all tiles are full on a planet) and don'

The hardest thing is to win militarily on Maso, it's not hard to win via diplomacy or culture when you know what you're doing. There are a lot of hints in the GalCiv I forum, although most of them are probably buried somewhere down the list.

Escort missions, protect the item, etc.:Yuck. Blow up and kill things: Good. I know what you're talking about... It already made me quit playing a game because some to-be-protected item always managed to be blown up, regardless of what I did. It's a bit similar with scenarios where you have a hard time constraint: I'm always glad when I'm done with

Looks great! Don't worry - I think most of us will enjoy all that text a lot. My all-time favourite of GalCiv still is the Drengin suggesting to meet for dinner... But I already laughed out loud when I first saw the opening dialog of the Thalan: "Brothersss, Sssistersss,...".

Just remember, we got over an hour of soundtrack this time (Compared to about 10 minutes in GalCiv I). There's a lot of music in the final version. Sounds good! The music in GalCiv I got boring too fast.

I did not expect the Drengin alignment crossover one bit, Second of all...Are you sure that space bird eggs covered in a light gravy is the most appropriate image for a massive cultural realignment? I think it's a random event and beyond direct influence of player or AI, the same existed in GalCiv I already

Do the planets and moons rotate in the game? I'm pretty sure they don't rotate around their sun, but I was just wondering about that... Planets don't rotate around their sun, but moons rotate around their planets. Both spin around their axis. Moon

I found myself using a lot of missile weapons too because I got the impression that they usually are the most efficient ones. One example (using 0.81a.007): Once the tech tree is completed, the best weapon modules you can get is a beam attack of 8 for size 16 (value-to-size ratio 0.5), mass driver attack of 14 for size 17 (=0.87) and missile attack of 25 for size 12 (=2.08). The missile weapon clearly gives the most bang for the buck, and th

Currently playing another game with version 0.81a.007 and two other things came to my mind: (1) Could the grid be made more visible? It's difficult to see on the map IMO. (2) Shouldn't there be a starbase module which enhances its sensor range? Such modules could be linked to the sensor techs.

How diifficult is it to make an interface. It's only graphics. Hilarious! You do know what you're talking about, right? I'm a bit disappointed myself that the nice feature of different UIs for alignments won't be in the release, but I understand that there are more important things

I'm impatiently waiting for the release myself, but don't forget: It already is exceptional that all pre-orders get to play Beta 5, and this version is stable and functional enough to get an impression of Galciv 2. And, believe me when I tell you from experience with other betas: Intensive testing can take away from the enjoyment once the game is released, I think this last month will be very well worth the wait.

Ctrl-R instantly gives you the tech currently researched, Ctrl-M gives $10,000, Ctrl-T teleports the selected unit to the mouse cursor position (found these by accident in Beta 0.81). Some other combinations resulted in a CtD though... Would be nice to have an "official" list.

I think legendde has a point. There was a poll about MP, but most of the participants were satisfied with GalCiv SP-only anyway (including me). The poll was made on a single player fan base, perhaps it should be repeated later with a more open audience. I'm sure many people would even pay for an MP expansion (think Civ III), perhaps this should be reconsidered. And MP features in general (be it LAN, Internet, MMORPG or a Metaverse) are growing each day
