Thanks everyone.... I didn't get it done yet. There is so much madness going on in my house these last days I hardly can think straight. I turn to the computer during those times, else I couldn't stand it... that is an extra reason I can't afford to have it go down. All this is also affecting my attention and my mood, I'm not sure I am very bright right now, and if I goofed.... I'm not sure I can risk getting any lower.

Thursday I will get the beginning of a few days respite (I will be pulling whatever social and legal strings I can find to make it permanent... sometimes I think our health and justice system really stinks) That day, I will set aside time to do this.

In the meantime, I am sorting old files and backing up stuff. I have caught some flaws this way to make it run a little better (free space also went from 58 to 63%), but that internal modem is always coming back.

hehe.... it was easy after I got the case open! Computer is happy, seems faster! But there was lots of dust in there. I wiped a little up, but I was afraid to touch much. Are we supposed to clean in there now and then?

YES! Its need cleaned alot otherwise it can overheat and cause cookage. Ours was getting really bad so we cleaned it out and the system performed noticably better. Be careful though, how you do it. If you use compressed air, it can wedge dust down into the card slots and cause shorts. Never a good thing. You should be ok if you are careful though.

I am guessing endust is out...

Endust is good for monitors, but the inside of your tower should never have chemicals in it. I use compressed air to clean ours but I had to use a cloth for some parts. Plus we could actually pick up the dust in sheets from some parts. It was really bad.

I knew you could do it.......

Buy a can of air (yes 'air'). You can find it anywhere 'puter stuff is sold. Use it to blow dust off Mobo, fans and such. Use a vacuum with a plastic (not metal) tip to clean up case bottom and external fan grills. Put case back together and rock out......

...um, should I be concerned if that process still shows in start-up no matter how often and how carefully I uncheck it? And now, the hardware is gone altogether?

It is using 27 GDI 2980K memory.

The other process is also persistent and is using 35 GDI and about 5,000k memory.

I have rebooted multiple times.

If it's not doing anything detrimental to your system performance.....let it run..
