Cheers, if there's an alternative download method once I buy it, then I'll just go ahead and get the game now EDIT: Sins 1.02 installing. What I did: 1.Bought with tokens 2.Started SDC; saw old version 3.Reinstalled the SDC in the link on top of my other one (which prolly was the same) 4.SDC now saw 1.02.018, or something like that. When I launched the new SDC from the insta

I have the same problem now - I don't want to buy it unless a release version is showing All I see is 0.70 from june 2007. I've tried refreshing the 12MB XML, and the SDC installation is fresh today. All the GalCiv2 bits seem updated, and at least I'm installing that now.

No BethSoft games have yet to use Starforce, and I think the backlash should have permanently scared them away from the thought now The nodvd patch (found in the usual places you find such things) works perfectly with my Collector's Edition. With the DVD/CD-check being just a simple check, a mini- image ripper would do the trick, too.

Ads don't affect me directly. A clickable link or an ad printing the link to the demo, however, at least makes me give it a try. I've only heard of GalCiv from two sources: A smelly OS/2 fan (he bathes nowadays, so it's OK) and a game-related forum that Brad also wastes some time on. I might stop filtering out magazine ads on the third time I read a magazine, but since I buy very few, that means the game has had a few patches b

I just updated to the latest beta, masochist that I am, and as usual, the main theme file I use was overwritten. I have of course just lazily saved over the existing MacPC themes I have one additional bar with major games, which I can restore by double-clicking its file, but the menus I made on the original bar are a hassle to recreate all the time. Cooling is a bitch. The air is supposed to circulate in a zen-like way, from CPU out the back through any number of points uninterrupted by cables, and the fans are there to make the air follow the right paths. So yes, one fan going could affect how another works. It's rare to see a system built from components of different manufacture have perfect cooling, though; only utter cooling geeks manage that well <img src="http://images.st

I see those rangers a lot, too. Tiny universe; Luck skill. After colonising my first world after my homeplanet, I found a Ranger. I felt lucky. Later in the game, after colonising another five worlds, I got three rangers with a turn of nothing special between each! Clearly, the Luck skill is either overpowered, or there are too few special events for enough variation <img src="http://images.stardock.com/tgNET/s

Sounds like your game industry friends only know hardcore gamers, Brad I know more people with "crappy" computers than laptop users. Most people over 30 don't really upgrade, unless they have kids demanding the latest and greatest. In which case they get the kids their own computers. I helped cobble together a computer for a neighbour, and

I've discovered it doesn't assume if you crash. Version of SDC: 2.29a.374, build 117. I've been struggling with a poxy NForce onboard NIC that bluescreened whenever it was least convenient, so after picking up a new card from my vast collection of salvage, I'm able to pick up where I left off..or so I thought. I had about 90 megs of the tutorials downloaded, but SDC just wiped the temporary directory already cr

The 3D engine alone would be pretty nice, if offered in a Garage Games-like deal. Their original Torque had a minor fee for indie developers to play around with it, and you had to redistribute the game through Garage Games. Once you passed a certain number of total sales, you were no longer indie and would require the larger, more expensive license that gave you total control. It's pretty much the same now, except you hav

I didn't think they had rape-simulators outside of Japan, and the only president-killing games I know of are that JFK thing (only sold online) and XIII (the murder has already happened before the game starts). I guess someone did some fact-checking after Simpson's claims.

Gee, there have been FOUR crappy games in the series already? I loved the first two games, particularly the giant levels in part two. Every game since then failed to grab me. Let's hope some of the original designers have actually consulted on this one, or it's the end of Lara.

I like the new system, and there are a lot of games I am pondering now. In fact, more games than I have tokens for I got a link to GameTunnel from an aquaintance who also has interest in indie games, and there are a lot of good games I'd like to see added to TGN: I of the Enemy, Outpost Kaloki, Leylines, Anito..the list was longer, but I see

Hi, folks. It's time for me to give some feedback of my own I've been using this neat product for a while now, and tried the betas until the most recent one. I've had to go back to 1.65 due to bugs, though. The main irritation is the well-known system tray problem. None of the fixes help. The other problem I have is that the
