Seconded! Start8 was the first (non-driver) program I installed on my Win8 (RTM) machine just to keep the insanity a little bit under control. It's done wonders for my blood pressure not to see the Crayola Start Menu [e digicons]^_^[/e] However, I'm really missing the fly-out menus and shortcuts to "Recent". I think I'm using the Win7 start menu the same way as RandPC, mine is all set up to expand to menus on the right.</p

I'd like to participate, but I'm on the verge of going for two weeks of vacations. I will get Drengin.net on my return if it's not too late by then. I think it's great you're opening up the alpha for public participation so early, rather than when it's too late to implement any changes. - Thomas

I'm surprised no one mentioned Stars! as a game worthy to take a look at - another space exploration/4X game with an active online multiplayer community. It's quite a few years old and still going strong (partly out of necessity as the sequel got delayed - perhaps indefinitely), so there should be something worthwhile there. I'm not suggesting stealing ideas, but take a look at the design decisions made for the new game (Stars! Supernova), t
I came across Brad's interview on Gamespot and thus "re-discovered" the GalCiv website. I used to play the original a bit (and got my head handed on a platter by the AI ;) before I had to wipe OS/2 from my harddisk. Also saw something on Stardock's homepage about doing GalCiv for Windows some time ago, but hadn't checked up on it in a while. Nice to see you guys are getting some "mainstream" exposure, I hope it works out. After Gal
