Unfortunately most Mac enthusiasts have been tied to Apple and have never seen what's been available for the PC. When Steve Jobs gets up on stage and says Apple has come up with some new goodies, they genuinely believe he's telling the truth. The actual truth is that Apple are very good at polishing other people's ideas and passing them off as there own. I'll give you one good example "Creatives Media Player" By the way, I have been c

I tried activating it with the firewall off. It didn't make any difference
I'm havng problems getting it to work The Troubleshooting Report says WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC. Your machine supports per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins. Wndowblinds is not activated on this PC. Activate through SDC When I try activating through Stardock Central I get an Error Code 5. What does this mean
Brad, It's obvious that there are going to be some big changes to the way windowblinds and skinstudio operate. Everyone is going on about the Aero glass effect, from what i've read there is going to be a higher level of graphics above Aero glass. Can you give us some indication how windowblinds and skinstudio will handle these graphics, what kind of program / file format are we going to need to produce these graphics. I do appreciate that yo
Frogboy you've said that Aero style transparancy will be available in some future version of windowblinds. Can you give us some indication of when that will be. I'd certainly like to see it before Longhorn (Vista) is available as it will give us a taste of what's on offer for the future. Keep up the good work Mitchec
Hi Moghouse. Ive uploaded iglass 1 to Wincostomize, so it should be avaialable soon mitchec
This is typical of Microsoft. Rather than just giving you what you want. ie Tabs, they throw in a load of other junk as well. I Think I'll be staying with Firefox. Mitchec
Hi there Moghouse, I dont know why its been removed but I'll try and get it back on by Monday next. Mitchec
As you say the Alpha channel isn,t supported, but there is a need for it. I dont know if you have noticed but these same buttons are used in the quick launch buttons on the Task bar. If you are using anything other than square buttons then the task bar doesn't show through. This can look very untidy. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="
After Essancay posted his last comment I decided to have a look at the start menu icon size. Previously I had been using large icons. After changing to the small icon size I got the misalignment problem. Setting the left margin to -90 as you suggested fixes the problem for both icons sizes. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered by SkinBrows
Shameless, Ive just been trying some alternative settings with the left hand margin and it appears that -90 is acceptable, anything less than this has no effect affect on the skin. P.S appologies if i sounded a bit negative in the previuous message. I dont pretend to know everything about skinning, I was just giving my opinion on what i've found works for me. <img src="http://images
Shameless, I can only tell you what i have observed while using skinstudio. In your first screen shot you show the arrow image misaligned with the grey panel showing through. This does not happen on my computers. I stand by what i originaly said.
This is the best way I have found to get around the problem 1. Adjusting the More Programs Backgrorund Image left hand margin to -120 pushes the single mouseover colour off the screen 2. You will now have to create a new image for the arrow. Copy the left hand side of the background image. I have found that if the background is 190 x 28 pixles then copy 150 x 28. 3. Set up a new image 3 x the copied size. This will be 450 x 28 pixles. Paste the copied area for the nor
Another off topic. Is there any chance we will see colourisation off Desktop Backgrounds. The Change Skin Colour support in Windowblinds is now excelent. It would bew nice to be able to change colour of the backgrounds to match.
You need to open Windowblinds Advanced Configuration then go to Basic Settings. Select the Skin Window Background check box. Hope this helps
Try this link its got loads of different tutorials http://robouk.mchost.com/tuts/ps.php Mitch
Dont know what happened with the message. It was related to the new skin browser in skins and themes. Every time I click on the "Recent" button Stardock central closes. Ive just updated to the build 42 and its still the same Mitch

You've probably already checked this but it might be worth checking the RGB levels of the magic pink. They should be 255,0,255
forget the last load of info i thought you were talking about something else
Check the top window frame image in skin studio. you will probably notice that there is a pink border showing above the frame 2 or 3 pixels high You will need to edit these out then reduce the size of the image by the number of rows you have removed. Remember that the active / inactive image is stacked so you need to cut out both. you will also need to do the same with the left and right border images. hope this will help <A HREF=
To be honest Steve, your not going to get the glowing style mac buttons unless its with mouse over. If you do want to try animating the System button image, make sure you have multiples of 5. What I mean by this is the normal 5 image states plus the 5 or 10 frames for animation. Try not to use the last frame as I have found you tend to get a lot of glitches showing, but this might be down to my graphics card. The other thing I have noticed when using animation is that
Being new to skinning I thought it might be a good idea to use the odd widget from other designers skins. What permission do i need before I can submit it for use. The Authors in question are adamn and Judge & Deggy Thanks Mitch
