Brad, I made earlier comments about how important it is to make a demo available. What I forgot to mention is to have a demo available at the time of release, becuase reviewers will usually link to it. At the very least reviewers will link to your official site, you will get that first wave of intrested gamers who can download the demo and make up their own minds. I understand that demos are more work for developers, Brad, but anymore I have to see a demo before I buy a game. Everytime I have broken that rule, I've gotten burned. Videogames are too expensive and too much can go wrong for me to buy a game sight unseen anymore.

There is an immersion issue here. One that I think Stardock would be wise to consider, although its likely outside the scope of GalCiv2 now. Items like Heros, random events, space monsters, new and unique tech on each advancement ect. made MOO2 fun because it gave the players empire alot of personality. I've seen discriptions of Beam Weapons, Mass Drivers, and Missiles, and the corrosponding Defenses: Shields, Armor, and Point Defenses. What about fighters and carriers? Are these in the game, or are you on;y able to produce small ships to fill the role?
