This happend to me several times until I read in one of the bug threads that using spaces in ship names can cause this. I redesigned my ships without using spaces (the _ and - characters are fine) and it stopped crashing. Luckily I set the autosave option to save every 3 turns so I didn't lose anything.

I just wanted to say thanks to the fine people at Stardock for taking such an intelligent and admirable attitude towards copy protection and customer service. If only your model was the rule, rather than the exception. I've actually had to download cracks for retail games I've purchased in the past because of StarForce "protection", as well as having to fix my cd-rom drivers. StarForce sucks; long live Stardock! <img src="smiles/Con
