First, don't be concerned with the quarterly reports about your position in the galaxy. They can be quite misleading. Check the graphs at the bottom of the interface. those will give you a clearer look at where you are. Depending on the difficulty level you are playing at (you didn't mention), with only 3-4 civs on a huge galaxy you should be in a good position to win. Some simple tips: 1. I upgrade by singling out one of the older designs on the main map, selecting it then clicking the upgrade button on the ship details panel at the bottom of the screen. From there, you select the design to upgrade to, then check the "upgrade all ships" box and select your payment plan. If you upgraded a currently existing (user) design, any starports building the older model will switch to the new design. Cheers, Reaver

MoO is the diminutive for the 90's benchmark 4X game Master of Orion, which was followed up by II and III. MoO2 was, by the estimation of most, the superior version. Due to its age, some of the animations are too quick on today's hardware but MoO2 could still be playable, if you can find it somewhere. Cheers, Reaver

I have some rookie starbase questions? How effective are upgraded Military SB's at defending themselves against attacking ships? Can ships be combined with a SB to create a fleet to help defend it? How much, if any, of the starbase defense modules should I add to non-military SBs? Any other useful SB tips? or links to said tips? Cheers Reaver
