yeah, what you do is set up a Rally Point and select the "Automatic Fleet" option. Ok, it may not be called that but it is pretty obvious which it is when you get to the RP screen. Cheers, Reaver

Had this happen to me as well, set constructors which had 52 movement to 6. Really annoying. If you leave the UP it fixes itself, but that of course brings its own problems. Thats why we need to have the Diplomacy screen enhanced, to give us the ability to see whats on the agenda for an upcoming UP, maybe a month in advance, to give us an oppo

Nah, just build defensive ships on a more productive world and fly them to the new planet. Now your invasion force has 3 phases instead of 2. 1) Send in battle fleet to take out defenders and create a veil of space superiority around the invadee. 2) Send in Troop ships to take the world (so you can hear the lamentations of their women) 3) Send in your Defender fleet, to secure the planet while your invasion force moves on to the next world. Just requires a l

I would like an order I could give ships, (like the auto survey order) that would make them patrol up and down a colored border. That could be handy and make deep strikes into someone's empire more challenging I would rather be able to use the current Rally Point system to assign ships to Patrol, because I sometimes want to protect systems deep

I don't want Cultural border to equal the Political border. Influence is a very fliud element in GCII as it changes from week to week sometimes. Political Borders are much more rigid on those same timeframes in that they don't change from week to week. I also don't want the same thing that Civ 4 does, because well, thats a different game. What I would like as a solution would be to extend the diplomacy screen so that you can create treaties with AI civs for control over specific

The racial victory is when you have at least one win with each of the races submitted Ahh, I was working on the premise that it might have to do with winning a cultural victory, but that seemed a mite easy for earning a medal. Winning with each of the races is a more medal worthy accomplishment. Thanks for the info! So t

ok, most of the Metaverse medals are self explanatory, but I have seen a couple that I am curious as to how they were acquired. The Purple Heart medal The Racial Victory medal So, spill! How'd you get them? I gotta hurry up and finish my first metaverse game so I can see what medals I get! Cheers, Reaver

I have seen stuff like happen in other programs, it usually crops up when using a smaller monitor with a High resolution and setting the system fonts to be larger than the "Normal" setting. For instance, when setting my 17" monitor to 1280x1024 or 1600x1200 and increasing the system font size. Though I can't explain why the scrollable text box isn't scrollable, unless the programmer set the properties that way... Cheers, Reaver

To make things worse, when the automated upgrade kicks in, it takes your structures offline. I was running along FDnH raking in 2500+ BCs a week, when research is completed on the next level of econ structures, BLAM, there I am losing 100+ BCs a week and my treasury is in the yellow. Luckily I had plenty in the treasury but I was saving that cash for emergencies! Cheers, R

Yes, the Search button is below the Recent Posts window on the left hand column. For all intents and purposes it is useless because it only searches TITLES of the thread rather than than the bodies of the messages. And very few titles are descriptive enough to be very useful. While being able to increase the number of UP gatherings could have some interest, what is more important is the ability to try and set the agenda for the meeting as well as using diplomacy as a tool to get you

I am pretty sure that Diplomacy skill and bonuses affect all your trades (in fact, the Dip screen hints at this when you start lining up trades). Probably the same for AI civs, but they probably don't concentrate on it like we might. I would bet that the AI takes current relationships into account as well, e.g. Close relations will net you a better deal than Neutral. It probably (should) takes into account relative strengths as well, but that could swing either way.

I thought that once war was declared all trade goods deals are cancelled? Two different things: Trade: Build a freighter and send it to a distant world to establish a trade route and generate income for both parties. Trade Goods: Built on planetary tiles and used in the diplomacy screen for political trade, like Tech, P

One way to create our own borders now, would be build a series of military starbases with overlapping AoE and build "Border Interdicter" ships to patrol the areas defined by the starbases. You could stop anyone that you wanted that tried to cross your border. There are several problems with this solution however. 1) You would almost certainly always be in a perpetual state of war with someone, perhaps everyone because, as it stands now, you can't tell anyone WHY you are blasting

Some interesting ideas in here. I don't necessarily want to see Influence borders == Imperial (political) borders. I think the two concepts should remain separate. Rather than just having lines that fluctuate from week to week like influence does, have the political borders decided in the Diplomacy arena, where it belongs. Perhaps a treaty designating that certain sectors are off-limits to treatied AIs (the taxation and other ideas above fit in well here, ie. treaty designates no a

Spying reduces the likehood of events like these. Hmmm, not in my case, I had maxxed out my espionage, to where it says "no further spending is required" against all opponents before I got the assassination event. Cheers, Reaver

I got that one last night, with the Altairans. There was no olympics or any other thing like that in the UP resolutions so I think its just random. It *could* be weighted so that if you haven't been in any fights, it bubbles to the top. And you don't have to wipe them out pnich, just bloody thier nose a bit and propose a peace treaty. They will probably take it. My fight with the Altairans continues tho, because they are stubborn and refuse to acknowledge that my ships are more

Here is one possible solution; Have 2 planets, one making transports, one building escorts, and have them meet at a rally point to form into fleets (depending on build times, might be better to have multiple planets making the transports, if they take longer). Cheers, Reaver

In 1.1, the AI only builds new ship designs 1 time a year. They are supposed to fix this so that AI builds ships more often. If I were them, I would stagger the build so that early in the game it builds new ship designs more often and later in the game it takes more time between new designs. but once a year is a serious weakness, leaves them wide open to rush tatics. Cheers, Reaver

Yeah Josh_88, those same justifications crossed my mind as well, but it is usually significantly cheaper/easier to salvage something than it was to build it in the first place, thats why salvage companies still exist. When a building is being brought down they gut all the plumbing and wiring for the copper and other things. Again, I'm not asking for 75% of the original value, something better than 2% As for leaving them intact, well, for Econ bases and Military bases, th
