I'm really enjoying the improvements that have been done to the game in this version. I don't know if it was actually in a previous version or not but I just found in this version that I can have a colony ship selected, open the planet screen, click the unowned planets and then click on the highest PQ planet so that the screen will move to the said planet. Although it looks as if the ship has been deselected I can still right click on that planet and the ship will head that way without me havi

Though personally I don't think they should focus on jewellery either, though it should form part of the package a better idea would be to focus on major gameplay innovations, like radically different civs(if it works) a la rts style, or things like terror star mechanics etc. I would definitely prefer new features to more "eye candy" This gives
I had this happen to me the other night on a large map about 3/4 through the game. After moving through all my ships I had no Turn button. Pressing the next button would not do anything either. I ended up saving and then getting out of the game. After loading it back up I did not experience it again. Of course it working fine blew my idea of sending SD my save game for them to look at it.
then the fact you have to choose all the negative ethical dillemas there is no GOOD reason to be good This one I agree 100% with. Good shouldn't always have the negitive choice, and neutral should be just that and take a smaller % of both good and bad. if good/evil get 30% +/- then neutral should get 1-15% of both +/-. Also, the 2500 pena
hehe, I swear the random events are nothing more than Urban Myths. I've got 17 games logged on metaverse and no telling how many before I started posting them and I've only seen Pirates once and no other (not counting those at planet landing).
But on magazine ads, who knows. Is anyone seeing them? While I'm just one person, had it not been for the ad in CGW I would have never heard of SD or GCII. (The 1 page ad) Having seen it, my interest had been sparked enough to visit the site and check things out, view forum members comments of the game, etc. After about a week, I talked myse
Forget a screenshot, I want a copy of the saved game to prove it wasn't faked. I'm such the optimist!
Camber, I have to agree with you there. Gaming manuals have gotten smaller and smaller which just barely gives enough information to play the game. It isn't like it would be hard for the gaming companies to get the manual written for them by some of their beta testers (public, not in-house) as most would do it just to have their name mentioned in it somewhere. I really think the manuals are now just a second thought that is scribbled down somewhere before release and just considered an added
Charging to add what is a standrard feature nowadays is an insult to customers The big gaming companies charge us for that "standard feature" as well, they just do not put it out in an expansion. By putting it out in an expansion those of us who would never use that feature do not have to spend our money on it. BTW...Copy protecti
@ Norad: Stardock have hinted at multiplayer being a potential post-release expansion for a long time before GalCivs2 was even released. People have been discussing it for that long, and I definitely had the impression it was a highly likely addition later on in its post-release development cycle when I bought it. It wasn't the reason for me buying it, but it was certainly
But you're not applying it to a random sample, so regardless, in light of how many people did purchase galcivs2, it's an unproportioned tiny amount. Oh but I was applying it to a random sample as this is as random of a sample that SD has access to. I will admit that neither of us know for sure which is in the majority when it comes to all GCII
Until I played a "good" game to bring my alignment back to neurtal on the medals, the Average Alignment was neutral on my metaverse log in screen. On one side it said Neutral, on the medal list it said C/E.
I bet if you were able to pose that question to the wider purchasing audience of GalCivs2 (let's face it, a miniscule amount are active on these forums or contribute to polls), you'd find a far different beast needing to be tamed. 3000k is not a miniscule amount for a poll, especially considering the fact that this game was not put out by one o
The most you could ever hope for is about 50% if that, if Stardock can get 33% of their original releases sale number at $20s then I think thats worth the investment. So 33% of say 100,000 copies sold todate, thats 33,333 @ $20s minus costs is a lot of potential money. Hmm, are we twisting numbers now? You say that they would
ack, I did...teach me! I can't read my own writing at times. Painful - Gifted (the manual does not list this one) / Bright
Well, from checking out the races on each level of difficulty their intelligence are a combination of... Challenging - Normal / Bright Tough - Bright / Intellignet Crippling - Bright / Genius Masochistic - Bright / Incredible Obscene - Bright / Incredible Suicidal - Bright / Incredible From the Manual The computer
Maybe it is because I'm playing on challenging but I generally just find it odd in the way the AI places buildings. I do not have a problem with whatever it wants to build other than the capitals/starbases which I would like to decide if I want them on said planet. Once I take the planet I end up replacing most of the buildings with those that best fit with what ever type of victory I'm going for anyway. If by chance the AI happens to have a building that I would keep, I normally have to upg
The argument for not being able to demolish Capitals is that that forces you to think about where to place them, rather than to put them somewhere now, and then move them later because you found a planet with several bonus tiles. I have no complaints about not being able to rebuild capitals IF I have built mine and not captured it . I'm rather
Thanks for the answers guys. I can understand the higher difficulties having more weight when it comes to ratings, but from all of your answers, netural is just that, netural. Good/Evil has all the weight, which really doesn't make since but oh well at least now I know. Guess I'll have a be good a time or two. Thanks again for the info.
Just curious about the alignments. I've only played 5 metaverse games but of those I've been netural for 4 of them and evil 1. Why is it that I'm now shown to be CE? Not that I really care what alignment I am, I'm just curious as to why one evil game will pull me from netural to CE.
While on the subject of weird improvement placements...it kills me to capture a lower PQ planet 4-6 and find one of the capitals built on it (tech, econ, man) yet nothing to support it. Then since I cant remove it I'm stuck with a capital on a small planet that I cant make good use of . Even worse is when these non replaceable buildings are built on a bonus tile. Please give us the option of getting rid of any building that the AI (or ourselves for that matter) places.
Just download the .exe file. After downloading..run it.
It's exactly what i do, but AI can stole or trade the prerequisite tech. I don't want my loving race Skunkies (they think they can conquer the galaxy whith love. No, really) have the dark weapons of the Kats ! While I like the idea of Race specific techs, I do not think that they should be flagged for non trade/steal. If you want to trade it,
The only suggestion I can think to offer would be to check the version # in the lower left corner of the main selection screen (new game, load, etc.) and make sure you have v1.11. I downloaded the CE content before I upgraded versions so I don't know if that would have caused a version change. You may have to download the update again.
Starheaven does have a point. In the shipbuilder it would also be nice to have the ability to Remove stacked items. Like if I change my mind, if I want to remove something and other pieces are attached to it, maybe give a warning/prompt but if answered yes, remove everything. Also, obsolete should give a prompt in case of accidental clicking or maybe a list of obsolete ships in case you want to pull one out of mothball status.
