What's the name of your race/civ? It looks like when it tries to load the race/civ that is after The Yor Collective, then it crashes with "Overran end of MemBuffer". Maybe there is an issue in an xml file or something pertaining to your civ. Looks like whatever it is caused some array or datatype or memory reference to get out of bounds. memman is probably an acronym for memory manager. By the way, maybe this is caused by having a version 2.0
OK I managed to figure out the solution to this annoying bug. This will help anyone who has the same issue as I had: 1. Open your registry with the Run command regedit. 2. Find the subfolder GalCiv2 in the registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Drengin.net\GalCiv2). 3. If you have my issue then GalCiv2 has a StringKey named Language with no data in it. 4. Delete the Language key by right-clicking and then selecting Delete. 5. Start Galac
Update: Tried a complete uninstall and re-install. Didn't help. Also, I noticed that there are no campaigns to start in the Dread Lords original game, even though in My Games I have the files and campaign saves from before. And if I start a new game in Dread Lords it crashes to Desktop. This is not good. Some registry setting is perhaps wrong (- I will have to search with regedit and look for anything related to Galacti Civilizations)? (- I have the silly program installed o
Too bad this bug hasn't been fixed. I think it has been around since the first release of Dread Lords. Good info on a possible partial workaround, thanks.
Well I am a big fan of this game. The first game took months off of my life and the second one has take much more. But after a couple year break, some lost cds and other issues, I decided to come back. I bought this game on here. So joyful was I when I tried booting it up on my cg 5270 with 8 gigs of ddr2 ram, gt 220 1 gig of video memory, intel quad core 2.5 Q8300, windows 7. I bought the ultimate edition. Then my darkness began to descend upon my life. I double

No; it's in the GC2_Conversations.xml file.
Ah, thanks. I tried replacing them with my other working PC's same files (both in DL and DA) but that did not fix the issue. I wonder what might be causing this ...
I noticed this line in the log: Debug Message: TradeWnd: Couldn't find phrase for AI_GROVEL_RELATIONS_ALLY! Yep, sent them an email. Here's the debug.err log in case that may shed some light on this: Debug Message: Version v2.01 Dark Avatar last updated on: Mon Nov 24 16:26:43 2008Debug Message: Checking DX Version.Debug Message: *********DXDiag info follows.*********System InfoTime: 8/28/2010, 16:34:40DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)Machine Name: JORGENOperating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr
After having updated to Win XP and reinstalled GalCiv2 and DA I've noticed that when talking to other cultures I get AI_GREETING_ALLY instead of the text that normally should display. It happens on all conversation items. Seems I'm missing some file? Anyone knows which file I might be missing or how to fix this?
Agreed. I found a way to get it to v2.01 on my W2K machine. Here's the solution: 1. Download and install DA 2.01 via Impulse on a different machine (for example Win 7 Pro machine). 2. Go to the GalCiv2 folder on the Win2K machine and rename it (so if anything goes wrong you still have it). 3. Copy the whole GalCiv2 folder over to the Win2K mach
When I reload a saved game, all influence for all civilizations are lost (i.e. the influence points are at 0). Why does that happen?
Hi, I was playing the Drea Lords Campaign, using Dark Avatar (2.01). There is a strange bug where the game goes straight to desktop after a battle against a Drengin fleet of 2 heavy Fighters. I can avoid this crash by disabling Explosions in the Interface Menu. I've looked in the GfX folder and its Explosions subfolder, but it seems normal. I tried using the exact same png files and the .x file from another backup folder but the results are the same. Any idea
Agreed. I found a way to get it to v2.01 on my W2K machine. Here's the solution: 1. Download and install DA 2.01 via Impulse on a different machine (for example Win 7 Pro machine). 2. Just checking the options. I could upgrade but I wanted to know if there were any alternatives. If there are any, let me know :)
The problem with W2K is that when I use the obsolete Strdock, and try to update, it does not show any updates. The only wy would be to install Impule instead of StarDock, but Impulse doesn't install on W2K. Has anyone got any advice (except updating the O/S) to get GCII:DA up to v 2.01?
