Ah yes Star Trek Armada I remember that game. Although I wasn't too familiar with the names assigned to the ships cause I always played as the Borg. Now that would be fun to do in GC2. Assimilate enemy ships and such.
Grimlock1
Ok I'll try that.
tried that already and it didn't make a difference.

I must agree that I wouldn't name a small ship the Titan unless I was in a weird mood or had been drinking but I think Hornet would be an appropriate name for a flag ship seeing as there was a carrier named USS Hornet in WWII. Now that I think of it I haven't used either of those two names ever....I will have to do so.
I name my ships in a way that is very similar to yours Ranger however I don't usually reserve names for specific ships or classes except for the initial ship of that class. Like the first Shippo Class Destroyer I build will always be named ISS Shippo. However that doesn't mean I can't use it on say a battleship if the first Shippo is destroyed. When a new ship is finished I name it whatever I can think of at the time and if I think there is a chance I already have one by that name in service I j
I was just curious if anyone else had run into this issue and if they knew of a way to fix it. But in my current game the Thalan fighters and heavy fighters are invisible. Seriously they are physically there and can fight battles but they are absoultly invisible the only time I can tell if they're there is if they are in a fleet (I can see that nice little number of ships) or if they are in orbit around a planet. At first I took this as a challenge and just continued to play but then after I des
I agree. When Germany surrendered in WWII they surrendered to the guy's who beat them into the ground not Switzerland. Also when Denmark transfered control of Greenland and Iceland it was before they surrendered not after. I'm glad I read this though cause I never noticed you could switch off surrender. I'm so gonna do that; no escape for those lousy Thalan now. MUAHAHA
1) New Ship Parts and Hulls. 2) Cloaking devices and counter technologies. 3) True WMDs, while the spore ship is nice I think it would be alot more fulfilling to cause a star to go Nova and destroy all planets and ships within its system or to perhaps collapse it into a Black Hole that will suck up anything that gets to close. 4) A Z-Axis to the map. Space is 3D not 2D however I suppose this may have to wait for Galactic Civ 3. Either way this would add a new level of
With this particular game I would only enjoy multi-player if it could be implemented without sacrificing anything else from the game. I think it would be a lot of fun to be playing with a couple of your best friends and then all of a sudden be at war with one of them because of an assassination or an insulted mistress. It would be interesting to see whose ships and/or tactics were superior. We had a blast in Civ3 and Civ4 but we always said we wished we could have designed our own unit's like yo
I always name all of my ships with the exception of fighters, colony ships, etc. It just seems to make the game more enjoyable. When I design a new ship whatever name I decide will be given to the first one built becomes the name of the class (obviously this is done in advance) Each ship is also given a designation which helps me determine the class just by looking at the name. Here's an example. ISS Voyager HD-05 The HD stands for Hyrule Destroyer since the name the class is Hyrule. Th
