Makes me wish I could pre-order.... :(

Very early on, you said something about a special 'beta offer' for those not using credit cards - making the beta available through PayPal for a limited time. Is this still the plan?
I am no artist, just a coder. What would be your approach to organic looking ships, other than tentacles?
Well, I'd always imagined them looking a bit like Moya from Farscape - nature strives for perfection, and a famous proverb states: "Perfection is not when there nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away." No superfluous elements, no bling, just what is a
I like tentacles as much as the next guy, but sometimes less is more. ;) The designs with fewer tentacles look better. Maybe if you had more variation on the scaling it would work. Or only two or three really obvious big ones, the rest smaller so the ship has more distinctive silhouette.
The ship editor should allow you to freely rotate the ship view. There are also buttons pre-configured for top, front, side and isometric views.
Well, I thought I narrowed down the region a bit with the 'went to school' hint. My profile says Germany, after all. :P But I'm glad to see that it wasn't too obvious. :D
Correct, the Ulmer Münster is the tallest church in the world, with the main tower rising to 161,53 meters! The state borders, in this case marked by the Danube, are between Baden-Württemberg (Ulm) and Bavaria (Neu Ulm). Funny note about the school: It's the "Kepler Gymnasium" (highschool), bordering on the Keplerstrasse and the Karl-Schefold-Strasse. However, the address is quite unexpectedly in the Karl-Schefold. :D
And here it is, in all it's glory. Three hints: - I went to school there - You are looking at a world record building - You are also looking across state borders (NOT country) Name: - The building marked by the first arrow - The record for which it is famous - The street of the school marked by the second
Finally got it. Quebec and Vancouver were the remaining areas I was trying. Le Pont d'aluminium near Shipshaw, Saguenay River, and the Shipshaw Dam (?). Tough one, at least if you know Canada only from satellite photos and hockey world cups. ;)
Thanks, that eliminates one of the two regions I've been focusing on! It's somehow hard to remember how far south the US actually are....
Any additional hints for us non-US puzzlers? ;)
There is a campaign? :P
It seems I missed a couple of 'minor' improvements of MottiKhan. :D KP, I think you need to pull a few new tricks from your sleeves....
Welcome, and what an entrance! :)
It is NOT 'GalCiv II'. NOT 'Ideas'. NOT 'Research'.
Kings Bounty is definitely worth the money in the fantasy genre. Other than that, www.gog.com has the original Fallouts for 5 €, both of them are a absolute must-have for anyone interested in RPGs.
Having RPG elements doesn't mean it's an RPG... If the goal of the game is to 'win' a map through strategy, then it's clearly not an RPG, but a strategy game. Other than that, looking good. ;)
I used the google search you provided, read the 'about that...' thread and have to say: Lol. If you expect to get any sensible replies from a post like that, where even when offered help by multiple SD employees you refuse to state your exact problem or system specs... Then, yeah, "It's the internet, toughen up.".
I know, hence the smilie. ;)
I think that's a bit harsh, isn't it? He apologised and promised to reduce the amount of OT posts. And it's not like he was the only one posting in the "shut up" thread, for example.
I was SOOOO proud about my two karma points... )
What Karma? According to the site where I'm from, you have exactly 0. :P
Are you spamming the fourms?
Thanks, I tried not to be the first one to say that. ;) Nothing against posting OT or the occasional nonsense, but those oneliners are beyond useless. ;)
Unless you have experience in not only coding but designing, planning and developing software, it's safe to say that it's way overambitious. Sorry. Start with something a lot smaller that lets you learn the tools, mainly, VS or at least the VS Express editions. C++ or C# seem to be the languages of choice, although if you want to go cross platform Java may be an alternative as well. Try 2d graphics first. Actually, try no graphics first, if you have no coding experience
Once Demigod is off our plate, we'll be able to push out the updates we've been doing on GalCiv.
Great news! It so good to see that GC2 continues to be successful and is still supported by Stardock. :) That'll keep me happy until Elemental hits Impulse. (PayPal Beta Special Offers, pleeeaaase, with two cherries on top :D )
Come on, neilo. Unless I missed a post, you're the last of the top three to stay below 110k. Do you really want to leave that top spot to a kitty cat? :P
