There is a stars file in the Dark Avatar subfolder of GalCiv2. However, replacing that doesn't seem to work for me, either. Is there any definite answer about the 1000 lines limit?

1. No. You only have the choice between 'continue building the same ship' and manually selecting a new build order. 2. AFAIK any research site wil get the bonus. 3. You need more influence. I find starbases help, but this is one of the points I'm still trying to figure out myself. 4. Each planet has its own approval rating. I think the number you see on the main screen is the average.

Mail sent. Still, the problem itself continues to mystify me. If for some reason the serials in the registry had been different... But even after creating a new character, not being able to post games with it... Very, very strange. Then again... Vista...

I did yet another check. In the windows registry, the serial numbers match between both computers. Copying the savegame from the new install over to the old machine lets me post the game to Metaverse. I even was able to create a new character using the new computer. However, I am completely unable to post Metaverse games on the new computer (Vista). Only the old computer (2000) manages to do that. Since all information (registry) is the same, I am completely baffled.

Ok, it gets worse. I can't even create new Metaverse characters anymore. The "Update Serial" dialog gives me a serial that the Metaverse recognizes as "invalid", my account page gives me _different_ serials that are "invalid", and the SDC generated mail gives me yet _another_ set of serials that are "invalid" as well.

On my new computer, I used SDC to download and install DA. Since that worked, I assumed everything was alright. However, trying to post Metaverse games gives me the error code (11) or (12), "Serials do not match". It happens with loading savegames copied over from the old computer (GalCiv Collectors installed from CD, then downloaded DA) as well as with freshly started games on the new computer. I tried using the "Update Serial" button on the DA launcher, but pasting the serial

Actually, I'd like to know the same thing... I have over 2000 star names, replaced the original files, even put the file in the Metaverse/English folder, but no luck. Still the same old names.

I just (well, this morning) got my new system. Right now, I'm downloading GalCiv and DA again, shouldn't be long. The only drawback? I got Vista. Yes, right, I'll go stand in the corner and hang my head in shame. But a new system seemed the perfect point to make the change. So now I wait with baited breath to see if GalCiv2 performs as stunningly as Medieval 2 or GTR 2, the only two other games I have tested so far. A god created this planet and universe only to allow child molestation, rape, murder, torture, starvation, and homosexuality ... Did you really just put homosexuality on the same level as child molestation, rape and torture?!?

There is an improvement that lets ships fight as a fleet (up to your logistics value), as well as a superproject that simply groups all ships (regardless of logistics) into a fleet. I agree that it is a bit strange how it works now. The only problem is that I have the feeling that the AI doesn't pull their ships from planets in order to engage fleet-to-fleet.

Endgame Analysis This game netted a measly 8000 points. Still, it was only my second game with all factories, tenth game overall. So I am very pleased with the outcome. I am not pleased with my ship designs, but that is a purely aesthetic point. The score suffered because of the failed invasion of Earth on December 22nd and the surrender of the Terrans in February. That means the game ended at the least favourable point of time. My ships achieved a 71:20 kill ratio, part

Pax Imperia Chapter One: A Clean Slate Prologue After years of wasting away on this insignificant backwater planet, the Emperor finally decided to deem the Heron quadrant worthy of attention. He has granted me starships to explore the surrounding sectors, as well as funding to rise my own armies. From the bridge of the starship Indom

Disclaimer Due to recent discussions on this board, I feel it important to make clear that this is a story. The views expressed are that of the character, not my own. I specifically want to stress that I mean no offense to anybodies religious views. The background of the Empire as portrayed in Warhammer 40k is similar to ancient China of Egypt, with the Emperor as head of state acting as direct representation of the deities of often a god himself.

Stardock isn't Valve. If you have a legitimate copy of the game (proof of purchase for example) then I am sure that they will be able to help without you having to spend more money.

I guess it comes with speaking English only as second language. Glad I could liven up your day. For me, 'to argue' means civil discussion using logical points (arguments). What you describe, I would call a fight or similar. But it's one of the instances where I find that I could make a much better and finer distinction in German. So, I boldly put forward the motion to move this argument to German!

I took one semester of Ethics, enough to know not to get involved in this discussion. Still, I'd like to throw in my two cents-€ about my personal point of view. 'It's not god I dislike, it's his fan club that I can't stand.' With all due respect and no offense meant at all, but people like Feud argueing the way they do always creep me out.

Not entirely sure about this. If you set up the different AI races, you can select your starting relations with them. One of the settings should be 'Team'. I haven't tried it yet (always play with random opponents', but it could do what you're asking for.

Seconds != Rounds But at least try and get the 1.5 update for Dread Lords. 1.0 is simply so old that you can't really apply any of the strategies you will find being discussed.
