Just thought I would update you guys :) I now have the issue resolved, I did another clean install of vista32bit installed catalyst 8.11, then installed the DX9.0c updates, then deskscapes 1.02 and now have most dreams working, including the updated water dream :D The other dynamic dreams won't work, but thats due to not having the 2.0+ version installed ie; it asks to install a newer version to play the content. But anyhoo i'll stick with having water dream back again! <

Neil: Yes I do, however running dxdiag shows that dx 10 is running if that is of any use? And I meant; sfc /scannow :P I don't think it's a stardock/deskscapes problem, rather something to do with my machine... Sorry, yes it is 1.02. From experience I would say Desktop Earth, Water Dream, Watercolour. only come with a subscription and therefore 2.0 of deskscapes. Which is why I bought it, however as i'm sure everyone is now aware and probably becoming tired of my problem, I cannot get any dynamic dreams to work with 2.0, and the only one that works with 1.02 is the bouncing box, which does not work in 2.0 despite my open ticket and is yet unresolved. sfc /runnow reported no e

When ever I have installed 1.0.2 in the past desktop earth didn't come with it and when trying to use any dynamic dream it reported that I needed to update to a newer version... (Yes installing the correct way, and not using any trial version and using the official link to download it from).

Will the Fix also address 1.0.2, the free version for ultimate users? As currently I keep getting asked to upgrade when trying to use Waterdream with that version. Reason I am using 1.0.2 is due to my sub expiring and won't be able to update the next version...

I am having an issue similar... 1.2 will not allow dynamic dreams to run such as waterdream/desktopearth/watercolour, the ones you get with 2.0, however since my expired sub if I select those dreams in 2.0 they don't run... nothing, just get a black desktop or frozen still image of a previous non dynamic dream. So... I dloaded SDCentral/ODT ultimate 2008, after 1st installing SDCentral and then seeing that there are no old sub dloads available to me... such as being able to dload Deskscapes seperately from the 2008 package, I uninstalled and removed all trace. Do you have to have an active subscription for certain dreams to work? I used to use the vista ultimate version, then upgraded to an ODT subscription in order to use dynamic dreams such as Desktop Earth/Water Dream/Water Colour etc, however the only application I would use with the ODT sub was Deskscapes and nothing more. Ultimate users do get 1.0.2 for free however you HAVE to use 2.0 in order to play dreams such as water.dream, the free ultimate 1.0.2 version does not come with many dreams as standard! Even so with the upgraded 2.0 version I am using, we are currently awaiting an update to fix the dynamic content, if you install the free ultimate version (for vista ultimate users) you do not get water dream or any of the stardock ones as standard, for example: Shark Pool, Grassy Field, Water Dream etc.

Any chance of an early Water Dream release please?! *j/k* :) It's my Fav one but it currently does not save the personal background choice :( Dreamer has already helped me out there and stated it will be done in the new update... I guess this is the one! Sounds great anyhoo, good work all you content makers/providers!

Thanks again for the help! My Deskscapes does not work anymore, I have got an open ticket with support, current status = 'open', priority = 'raised' sorry to bother you, as I say I really only use water dream so it would be nice to have it back working on my desktop :)

Is it possible that an older customizable version of water dream has been replaced by a non-customizable version? As I say, all previous versions i have had (or at least one version that has not been updated/replaced before) always enabled me to change the backdrop (though not the cloud image). So as you say, it's not a paid for version (liquid dream) just the free water dream, perhaps stardock decided to change or limit the ability to apply a different background image at some

The slider bars also revert back to default, as soon as I adjust them then click ok - close the settings window then re-click on the dynamic settings button they are back to default. I am using the version that came free with my purchased object desktop suite. Have tried using different image files such as: jpeg/bmp most toher dreams seem to run fine, also the older versions of deskscapes would run water dream fine with my choice of backdrop... Still pondering...

Hello! I'm sure it's user error but not sure what I should do to fix my issue at this time. My issue is as follows... Stardock water dream is running on my vista ultimate 32bit machine (which runs fine) except one thing: when changing the background image from 'sand' to anything else, deskscapes or vista does not retain the new image i have selected and always reverts back to sand upon restart/reboot.
