Mass LRMs? funny thing is, that usually doesn't work. if its a small map, mass disciples, hit their tech buildings (military tech first). build carrier cruisers with fighters. when you get illums, don't mass build as illums don't do a lot of damage vs other LRMs. defense frigs are better vs LRMs. not the best counter, but they work. if you see someone massing LRMs, build lots of scouts and defense vessels. ya, scouts do pretty good against LRMs. a lot of people don't know that. hell, i didn't kn

wow hunting. i said i have only played 2 1v1 to show that my post may or may not be worth a grain of salt. i've read every single post on here and very rarely do they touch upon small map 1v1. and i believe i've already told you how to get em. don't sit back and wait for them to build a massive fleet unless your planning to tech right to destras. oh ya, scouts. build a lot of scouts. for some reason they can chew through LRFs. i didn't know that til my last game. funny how that works. your strat

i don't build defenses. at all. its funny how many people build defenses. i ignore them. unless they are hangar bays. but i don't worry about those for long cause either my bombers take out the hangar bays, my defense vessels take out the fighters/bombers, or my fighters take out the bombers. hanger bay fighters are good for LRFs, bombers are good for taking out other cruiser carriers and heavy cruisers but anyone who builds a mix fleet don't have to worry about too much.

lol. advent suck? i was playing a 2v1 game vs a vasari and TEC. tell me, if advent suck so much, why was it that i was pushing the vasari into a corner even tho he had dark armada? the only reason i lost was his ally came up and smashed me between the vasari and him. lol. advent don't suck. i believe its the end user. and if you want to know how to play 1v1 on a small map...2 mil temples. research cruiser carriers. build up disciples and focus on fighters for your carriers. that leaves you with

beginning game, hangar defense is godliness vs LRF spammers. thats funny, i thought advent did....or is that just the carrier cap? oh well. against someone that is an LRF (yes i said LRF instead of LRM) spammer, 5 or 6 carriers with fighters > 12 LRFs. if your gonna go on a raiding party, try sending in just bombers and have them FF defenses. after defenses are gone, phase them out and hit em somewhere else with your main fleet. i did this in a game. 10 carriers with nothing but bombers

lets see, phase lanes being choke points in RTS? wrong. flying units don't have choke points. any other turn based 4x has "phase lanes". or, in your words choke points. tech tree is small. the game is slow. but the game also allows startegy. something i haven't seen since starcraft. and even starcraft lacks on the strategy side. if you want something indepth and massive. check out space empires 5. altho many can even handle that game. i know, i'm in turn 413 and its still a stale-mate between 12

if you want a turn based 4x game, the best is space empires 5. i like sins because of the RTS element but i love space empires 5 because of the strategy and depth there is to it. few games have done what SE:V has done and most of the games that have done it, are broken discarded hunks of raw, insane talent but broken and bug ridden all the same.
