It is worse than that the developer of objectdock is no longer a part of the team..... So...it is time to jump ship.... Bloody sad state of affairs!

Hi guys! I know that this seems to be a sore point for many...but I still think it is important! I have been pleased with my Objectdock Plus for several years but I see that dispite many questions about the development of objectdock no one gets an answer that enspires confidence in the development team... As of late the weather icon has stopped working....and YES...I know many have posted about it but no fix has been forth coming... So....is it possible that th
Hi guys! What I have done that seems to have stopped the little rascals from starting is... I have disabled Superfetch in services and then en the registry turned off superfetch and prefetch... In the registry HKEY_LCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM >CurrentControlSet > Control > Session Manager > Memory Management > PrefetchParameters... On the right you have EnablePrefetcher and EnableSuperfetch... change both to 0 from 3 and that seems to do the trick... <
Hi Uvah! Thanks for that workaround.... One wonders if objectdock is too sensitive or that when these background apps are supposed to be turned off...they are in fact still on....never been a real fan for Windows 10 but have set up computer for my license for when Windows 7 is too old... I am sure there will be advances in objectdock by then and I will be tweaking Windows 10 to get rid of all the spyware...doesn't leave much but I am like many others and think Microsof
Hi again! I for one would gladly pay for a new version of objectdock that is designed for Windows 10. I never assumed that once I bought the product it would mean for all versions of Windows.... For the most part the dock is working.... One thing that others may have noticed is the fact that even if you turn off the background apps in Windows 10 a white dot appears on the dock to signify an app is active...and when you click on it it then opens it to the "settings" win
Thanks for your reply...then I will have to look else where...such a shame... bookie56
Hi guys! An old thread....many ask about support for Windows 10 and the reply is it isn't supported.... Is there a plan to support this version of Windows as it is the latest and the last one from Microsoft... I, like many others, have paid for objectdock and would like a straight answer to this question and not that it isn't supported... Please forgive me if I am not aware of updated information regarding Windows 10 Thanks!
Sorry for such a stupid question.... Ihave noticed this file in my documents but have never had the time to wonder about its usage until now having the sad task of reinstalling my computer... Can someone put me out of my misery and let me know what it is for....;) bookie56
Yes, I backed up that folder but did forget to reinstate my shortcuts etc....I have now solved the problem... Thanks for your time! Much appreciated! bookie56
Hi Island Dog! Don't you just love plonkers like me....;) Objectdock and the settings folder for the program... Sorry... bookie56
Hi guys... Sorry, title a bit vague... I saved my settings before reinstalling my computer but when I reinstate the settings I get all my icons but not how I left them. I even have to add the icon info...on many of them it just says "A new Shortcut"... What am I doing wrong? This is on windows 7 64 bit.. Thanks! bookie56
Hi guys! Yes, I agree... I had two more updates from Microsoft and it is working OK again [e digicons]:D[/e] I am a happy bunny again! bookie56
Hi guys! I don't know where to start with this problem apart from my computer needed a restart after some updates and then every time I tried to start a program etc...it crashed. I got the same response each time a program is causing Objectdock to crash and Microsoft are trying to fix it...bla, bla, bla. I loooked at the updates and this is Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit...there are a bunch of security updates and Office 2010 updates...
Hi Jafo [e digicons]:D[/e] ! OK! tested that and nothing was happening - but if you right click and drag from the little tab - then it works! Thanks! Just don't know how they become separated! bookie56
Hi folks [e digicons]:D[/e] I awoke today to find that a tab had separated and become its own dock and was in a different position to the rest of tabs on the main tabbed dock? Is there a way to rejoin a tab to the other tabbed dock? bookie56
Hi folks! OK! the docklet I had been using was from here , but I have taken the easy way out and dragged the Windows icon from the desktop onto my dock and just added the empyt/full bin icons I wanted... So, problem solved! thanks! bookie56
Hi guys! I don't know why my recycle bin isn't working....it did and now I have noticed that it isn't showing full? I have Windows 7 64bits and I know that has caused some issues...for some of the problems I used this solution....sorry, can't remember who wrote it: Solution for making 64bit programs work stardock I have been using the x64 version of Vista for about six months a
Hi guys! DisturbedComputer! Thanks for your help on this...I have found out something...it is the stackdocklet I am using that doesn't seem to support the shortcuts to the 64bit programs. I use the stackdocklet to keep things tidy, but included shortcuts for Internet Explorer and Photoshop as separate shortcuts and they are working fine.. I have adopted your method for Defrag and that works great! Just need to look at the stackdocklet..... &
Hi folks ! I guess I must have asked something stupid? I obvioulsly didn't explain myself properly ....my age you know....LOL. I saw a thread dated around 2008 where questions about the dock supporting links to 64bit programs were asked.... I am asking the same thing....If I put links in a folder to all my browsers...chrome, opera, safari, firefox , internet explorer....I use all of them when testing my site, there have been so many differences in how they show sit
Hi again! Am I to understand that 64bit programs automatically run as 32....like IE9? This is something that has been asked for since 2008 by members? Can someone clarify the situation for me... Thanks! bookie56
Hi folks! Sory for butting in, but I liked the idea of running .bat files as frankell explains, but I cannot get them to start "system restore" from the dock? Can someone tell me why this is? bookie56
Hi Again! OK! I am using a Swedish version of Windows 7 Ultimate 64bits and I am not certain when translating functions from Swedish to Englisn...LOL I have done similar to what you explained, but sent the whole "Syestem Tools" folder to the desktop as a link and then dragged the folder into my tabbed dock. If I click on the folder - I can choose from the folder which program I want and it works fine.... Now to create a tab for the other ones that are left...</
Hi DisturbedComputer! Thanks for the detailed info and I will get back to you on that as soon as I get a mo... Thanks again for stopping by. bookie56
Hi guys! Hi have tried creating a normal link on the desktop and then adding it to the dock..nada?! Thats what I find strange...If you add a normal shortcut to the dock and then browse to C:\Windows\System32\ and look for rstrui.exe you wont find it. That is why dragging the link to the dock doesn't work....? Just comes up "couldn't find that file and please check you have the right name etc" This must be a problem with objectdock plus? BTW
Hi again No takers? bookie56
