I've looked at shellstyle.dll and shellstyle.dll.mui and can't find the element I'm looking for. All I want to do is a minor hack, and then apply WindowBlinds. I back everything up several times over, so I'm not worried.
Are you sure? Where would that be exactly? It's not under Bitmap.
Thanks for clarifying that. Does anyone know what system file contains that particular information, so that I could perhaps access it with ResHacker? As far as I can tell, it is not in aero.msstyles.

I'm getting a bit frustrated with WindowBlinds. I had hoped to be able to more than just superficially modify the Aero theme (see my post here: https://forums.wincustomize.com/editpost/451374). It's kind of discouraging to have received no answers! Changing the main color without being able to change the other colors (that dreadful light blue and that ubiquitous gray) is not particularly appealing. As a first project, I thought I would like to improve upon Aero colors themes by changing the light blue areas like the menubar, and the gray areas that you have in some dialog boxes and other windows, to coordinate with the main color. I thought it would be fairly straightforward, but I can't even begin to figure out how to do it or if it is in fact even doable. I would be very grateful if someone could give me some guidance. More than uninstalled it. Completely obliterated the entire drive backup by overwriting. So there was no trace of ever having installed it.

It's a bit complicated. I had a trial version that I was running on a bootable backup (I always test new software on a backup rather than on my primary drive). I had so much junk on the backup, that I refreshed it by backing up my primary drive, and since I had purchased it, I just installed it fresh. So it's like I'm running a new installation on a new machine. And now, unlike when I had it installed as a backup, it's not behaving in the same way by starting off and loading w

I'm new to all this; I installed the trial version of WindowBlinds, and I was a bit surprised and disappointed to see that it didn't allow for much creativity. Unless I'm missing something, it seems to put a up pre-made frame that is only partly modifiable around your basic Windows 7 (in my case) theme, which clashes retains all that pastel blue stuff and clashes pretty badly. You could remap the mouse buttons using AutoHotkey. As far as the ability to specify in the script that the remapping only occur in certain circumstances, I'm not familiar with Fences, but you have a lot of flexibility with AutoHotkey. If you're not familiar with it, just Google it and you find a ton of information. It's free by the way.
