What's this in the changelog notes then: + More difficulty levels: Dunce at the lower end, Godlike and Ultimate at the higher end. Not listed in the AI intelligence levels in-game, either. redly

Which game files? I only see custom race files in the My Documents\My Games\Galciv2 directory. I'm looking to change the default races, and I don't see those in the main game directories. redly EDIT: nevermind, found it. raceconfig.xml. Think I might have some fun with that. After backing it up of course <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN=
Hi everyone, I was wondering if there is an option somewhere in the game (or a way to edit a file or something) to have the races have a random (or at least temporarily different) ethical alignment? I'm getting tired of the Drengin always being evil, or the Terrans(?) always being good...Would be a nice change of pace to have them differently aligned. I thought I remembered the original Galciv having this feature but I can't find it on 2. Or, I'm just blind. <img src="smiles/Smile.gif" border=0
Okay, so the confusion lies in that you can only sort by ONE attribute at a time, correct? I was under the assumption we were sorting by THREE at a time. They really need to change that.
Hmmm still no help. thanks
Just as I post a comment that my medals aren't showing up again, they popped up. Must take a few minutes or something.
There was a previous post about how to use the filtering adjustments on the metaverse scores page, but it got locked after the original poster "figured it out", even though someone responded that they, too, couldn't figure it out. Well its like 3 weeks later and I still can't figure it out. EVerytime you change one of the settings, the other two flip back to default. It's absolutely maddening. So could someone PLEASE enlighten the rest of u
I've done this and they still don't show up for me. I'm logged in, set my character to default, and am using both IE and Opera. Once in a blue moon they pop up for me but thats it.
Well, I've been using both IE and Opera and have set my "default" character, and it seems the medals show up completely RANDOMLY for me, and its quite irritating.....any idea how to get them to show all the time? Oh and yes, I am logged in all the time I'm in the forums. redly
I'm in a "challenging" game right now (for first time) and WAS getting my arse kicked, but then found 5 Lucky Ranger ships (yes 5) in the next 10 turns or so....Was playing a race with +25 luck trait...Seems something "triggered" the finding of the ranger ships and as far as I know, will continue through the game...I was able to counterattack my enemies, take a few planets, and then make a peace treaty with all my hostiles...so its a brand new game now.... Luck seems too overpowered.
I would like to throw my hat in with a suggestion I think someone else brought up that I thought would be great and would enhance gameplay: Permanent wormholes. Randomly generated at the start of the game, but permanent. These would especially be effective using a large map. Defending these wormholes would be just as important as defending planets almost...ala DS9. :) The only problem I see with it is the 'range' factor of ships. Perhaps if the scout had unlimited range (does it alr
Just a reminder--I see this wasn't fixed in the new update :(
When selecting RANDOM alignment of a race during the game setup screen, the chosen alignment is shown in the background of the race. IE. You hit 'random', and the background for the Altarians turns red--you automatically know they are going to be evil...same for all the other races. Kind of defeats the purpose of having a random feature. I'd like to be completely surprised when I meet the race in the game.
