I hadn't played it since December 2019, but wanted to pick it up again. It definitely seems that little bit quicker for me, I'll take anything I can get as its my most played game on steam [e digicons]|-)[/e] . Can I ask what sort of turn times your used to and what size game, cpu ect.. you have. Thanks

Hi guys, Does anyone else have an issue with late game performance on the Crusades expansion (version 3.96). I'm playing on a Gigantic map with 8 players total, gifted difficulty. I'm on turn 472 and the game runs like a dog. It takes around 2 minutes a turn where on the original game turns took seconds. Is this normal for Crusades and is there any way to speed it up? System spec's are below: i7 6700K @4Ghz 32GB Ram Nvidia 1060 6GB Galactic Civ
Further to the above, it seem's loading a game and then going to the menu and loading a different save is a no no late game. It takes ages to load the save and then doesn't seem to save properly afterwards.
I've been testing this a little bit. I've seemingly found some slightly odd behavior and perhaps a possible workaround. Previously I reloaded a working save and tried to continue from there, but it got to the point where each time very shortly afterwards the save games were corrupted again making continuing my current game impossible. However I tried reloading the last save game that worked, doing a turn and then making a new save. I then quit to the desktop and reloaded the game again and ca
All of my save game names look fine, no different from the working ones. I also wait until the saving game message has disappeared before continuing. I've also continued for hours after a save before without releasing they are no longer working. The saves were around 23MB each, but they are 5.8MB for the ones that don't work.
Have you found this issue on more than one game by any chance? I haven't tried starting another game because the first one has taken so long. Thanks
I'm also having a problem where the game crashes to desktop when I load a save but I don't have anything like the above in my debug.err to suggest what the problem is. One thing I've noticed is that all the saves that don't load are significantly smaller to the last working one. Is this also true for you as well?
I reloaded an old save and continued for a while. Currently on turn 490, I've now run into the problem again. I've noticed that the save files are now much smaller, they were 23MB and now they are only 5.8MB. So it seems the save game files are corrupted. I've tried saving at different points during a turn to see if that has any affect but it doesn't seem to. Has anyone encountered save games not saving properly before? Thanks
Thanks for replying, after not playing the game for a while I updated it several weeks ago and started a new game. I haven't tried another game since to see if that has the same problem. The problems don't seem to happen at the same turn. If I go back to an older save, I can usually continue beyond where I was before, but I randomly seem to run into this problem again.
Hi, I'm having a problem where the game crashes to the desktop when loading a save.
