I have a problem lately. Sometimes (often) when I minimize windows and/or switch back and forth between them, I'll get a big black square in the middle of my primary screen that won't go away even with an F5 refresh. There are no dialogue boxes indicated and the only way to get it to go away is to end the dwn (desktop windows manager) process. I have to do that twice and then the black box goes away. Problem is, that so does my WindowBlinds skin. I'm currently using Aero Brushed Metal. Haven'

I have the Sort Fence option set to none and yet every time I try to reposition an icon within a fence they don't stick where I want them. If I have a dozen icons within a fence and I want one or two icons to remain next to each other, it seems like every time I move one icon to where I want it to go, the others all change their order. Is there a way to position each icon in the order I want without the others moving about to try to maintain a fill pattern?
I can't find a WindowFX section, so I'm gonna poach this one. Didn't WindowFX used to have a lighting feature where you could set it to have a light effect in different areas of the screen? Is that no longer part of WindowFX?
Thanks for the reply. A reboot fixed the problem.
Well, now I'm using the latest version of WB and that option no longer works. The only blinds that show up are the ones that were installed with WB6. I moved all of my old backed up blinds to the directory and hit the rebuild list option but no joy. They're in the correct directory, because if I rename it, WB loses all of the skins except for a couple, and the console goes black. Renaming the directory back to the correct name restores the skins that came with WB6.
LOL, I just came back in to reply that I discovered the 'rebuild list' option. Thanks for the fast reply. Rich
I tried moving my backup folder of all my old WindowBlinds skins into the new All Users/Documents/Stardock/Windowblinds folder but none of them show up in the WB console for selection. How do I get these to display so that I can choose and apply them?
This thread should stay dedicated to Mr. Reagan's passing, I don't wish to distract from that. Too late. You already did. And with emotional attacks and distorted errors rather than factual evidence as well. Too bad.
I'm just noticing that everyone of Latin's posts have been double posted.
why the double posting? why the double posting?
All right, I just read the article and can also find nothing in there to quibble about. Let the record show that I am a conservative Republican BTW. Just to be up front. I'm of the opinion that those of you who are crying about the posting would have been rejoicing had it been a website that bashed Bush and the current US policy in Iraq and the Middle East. At least be up front and acknowledge that as well. There has so far (in 5 postings) been no legitimate discussion or refutation of the
It started Saturday night. I haven't been able to logon reliably since.
In response to Mr. Moeli, As I said, the only purpose any government has, US or otherwise is the redistribution of wealth. OK, and power. The government takes from those who have and gives it to those who can give it power. That includes all governments. Why do you suppose the tax rates in the European countries are so high? Because of a socialistic attitude that states that the government is there to provide jobs, health care, pensions, life. All of these things cost money. And
Well, I can see that continuing this discussion is becoming pointless. I apparently am unable to sway your opinion to seeing my point of view and I am becoming tired of correcting your misconceptions. Never once did I say that the US was perfect nor that it ever made any mistakes, nor even that it never did anything deliberately wrong. The US, like any other nation that believes in self-preservation will continue to do the things that it thinks necessary to ensure it's survival and prosperity
Several points need to be responded to. I'm sure UNICEF is a worthy organization. I'm referring more to One-World type rulings that would take rights and freedoms away from American citizens. Such as, the right to keep and bear personal arms, the freedom to drive the vehicle of our choice, the exorbitant overpricing of gasoline, the sole purpose of which is to make it more expensive for people to use. The fact that our gasoline is cheaper than the rest of the world's only means that
I beg your pardon. Have you seen one barrel of oil taken from the Iraqi people by the US yet? No, you haven't. When Irag's oil production is back in full swing I'm sure we will be the first in line to PURCHASE oil from the Iraqi people. We may even allow them to discount it to us as a form of repayment for freeing their people from Saddam but even that is only fair. Do we fight when there is no benefit to the US? Sometimes. I'm thinking of Somalia, Yugoslavia and Haiti for example. Yet o
It is becoming my opinion that the US should disassociate itself from the UN, declare the UN null and void, remove itself militarily and economically from the rest of the world and let the rest of the world take care of itself. We should seal off our borders, let anyone who wants to leave leave and let no one else in. We may have to demonstrate a willingness and readiness to immediately destroy anything, anyone and any country that would threaten us or our borders but otherwise stay completely
I agree. It's too bad that jealousy, hatred and anger can have such a powerful and controlling effect on the mind. As an American I can fully understand the concept of doing what is best for AMERICA first and then what is best for the world as long as it doesn't hurt America. I can also understand non-American citizens' anger over that attitude. What I can't understand is non-Americans not understanding America's attitude. The French, English, Greeks, Italians (Romans), Jews, Chin
SM, there are a great number of people out there who have an irrational hatred of George W. Bush and everything he stands for. One example, when Clinton bombed that factory to turn attention away from the Lewinsky scandal, where were they then? These people hate him, I believe, because he takes a stand, says what he'll do and then does it. These people hate him because he is a man of conviction, right or wrong, and they are not. This reminds me of a joke in which President Bush, his entourag
The same UN that washed their hands of the dirty work and now wants a piece of the economic pie. The same UN that didn't have the backbone to enforce their own numerous resolutions and cried when the US said "If you won't, we will". I'm still not sure if Iraq had anything to do with the September 11th attack of 2001. I do know that Saddam was given every opportunity to come clean and instead he behaved in such a manner as to make the whole world suspicious of his involvement. I hope he gets
Success! The file I was attempting to upload was packaged in the older *.dxtheme.zip format. I downloaded and installed the latest version of WinStyles and repackaged it with the newer *.suite format and it uploaded just fine. Kona0197, it looks like you were on the right track.

hmm. I'll try uninstalling 4.5 and reinstalling an earlier version. I'm sure I'll also have to remove any lingering entries in the registry as well. My SDC is working fine though. R
GM, I tried that without success yrag, I'm using ZAP 4.5.530
Well, still no joy. Who do I call to get this resolved? I've emailed Frogboy but I also know he's very busy getting everything up and running again. Is there a support hotline that I could contact to determine what the problem is? Thanks much, R
