Sorry, let me hijack this thread Dear Sir, where is the description of making your own bootskin? I tried replacing the bmps and editing the ini, but i think i need the file format required for the bmps (indexed 640x480 i presume) but editing existing skin bmps in photoshop CS and spitting bmps back out don't work! black screen but i do get a progress bar, that also looks corrupt. there must be some trick there...thanks!!! jigs
mine does not! and I tried all the docklets on this site and none do as good a job as Rainy's Rainlender if you are an outlook user. So I suppose you can just find a nice png and just make a shortcut docklet to Outlook, then set outlook to display the calender on open? I think that's what I might do, as I don't want to run Rainlender anymore. good luck! btw, it seems that those options are not programmed into the default docket...maybe it w
duh! a link to this must be in the startup folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Stardock\SDMCP.exe i think that's been said many times on this board...
same here, it was there for a month and now awol. it's also missing from right click, so i think this is may not be an OD problem (but still a stardock bug). Not sure, but the only change I made to the system was to upgrade a Realtek audio driver, the looked a bit odd, there were 2 icons in the systray after the install. So I uninstalled and installed the Realtek stuff again, and all is well with the audio but no systray in either objectdoc or right c
I had this problem until I upgraded both OD to OD+ and a newer version of PowerDVD, as well as upgrading my Geoforce drivers. Not sure which one took care of the problem but it was a royal pain and there are many others with the same problem...I guess I am one of the lucky ones now.
sure wish u had posted the link to the solution here! all of a sudden my systray vanished from both objectdoc and right click! hmmmm...all was well for a month or so...
Hi all, this is not really a post for the January Desktop display but with a little help from you all it may be one for February. Actually, this is a thread I started on Samurize, but I want to do something very simular to what Darco did on Page 1 here, but here is the help that i need: Namaste all, I am using Stardock apps and now Samurize (way cool) and I want to build a desktop for our studio's networked computers. So below are before and
ps. u seem to be an icon guru so here is one for u, can i get an icon (or docklet, that simulates the network connected icon, and actually blinks like the windows one when things are transmitted up and down? it was the most useful icon (inmho) on the original systray (I could instantly see when the network was down) but how did MS do that? This icon must be special, and shows on the MS tray, but not the right-click or objectdock systray. thanks!<
that also fixed it, thanks for your help on this one. jigs
neat trick, but it did not work, but i was able to just add another icon. using right click, there is still a blank spot, no icon, so something is hosed... oh well, thanks for the tip! jigs
I am using a doc at the bottom that includes the systray, and while i have seen a few posts on missing/including icons, i have not seen one yet about the windowblinds 4.5 icon being awol, but the icon is just BLANK, the space is there, with the label, but it's just blank. Double click brings the WB interface up. Strange, eh? also, on stardock right click it's the same thing, there is a blank space, no icon. wuz up with that? ps. I have the original wi
Koasati, can u suggest some downloads for samurize? i feel a little overwhelmed by the website, it reminds me of wincustomize! i guess i need the app and widgets, just like with OD plus eh? can they both co-exist with windowblinds, OD, right click? thanks!!! jigs
thumbs up to tordex. the wheel on my mouse was flakey and somehow tordex wheel fixed it. nice little apps with little footprint. anyway, is SDMPC.exe from stardocks needed? what does it do? thanks again!!! jigs
thanks u two! pressstart is better than anything i have tried for that feature from wincustomize site (docklets). so can samurize be added to a dock? i'll look into it. I am trying to get it all without a loading a lot of programs (ha!). before i found stardoc apps i used to use rainlender/rainmeter and what's now yahoo widgets. the latter really rots, the rainy stuff was great in function but just did not look so good. well, at least object doc is now
search around here on systat: https://www.wincustomize.com/Skins.aspx?LibID=29&view=1&sortby=4&sortdir=DESC&p=1&advanced=1&scat=Docklets i can't get mine to work. I can load docklets, but i can't see some of the meter images, the ones i can, they don't work, ie. network =0,0 null. it's a strange beast. the instructions were to install into the od dir, but i am not sure that's right? more should be said there. some of the meters put entries in the registry, so removing migh
well, after hours of i figured it out. either the startmenu2.1 docklet or the HD Monitor docket downloaded from this site are crashing OD plus. I figured it out by taking ur suggestion and editing the ini file, taking out the doc that contained these items, and then reconfiguring. Another possibility is that there is something about having a tabed dock on top and just a run of the mill doc on the bottom that is causeing the problem, but i have a cpu m
thanks for that super! is there a trick to a fresh install? i see mentioned manually cleaning out some exe and dlls? i noticed that the only thing uninstalling seems to do is to remove registry entries and the objectdoc.exe from the install folder, and that's about it. thanks!!!
ths really strange part is that i had an old copy of objectdoc free in another directory, and it works...go figure...
same here, is there a way to debug using the crash dump files? I just had object doc set up just the way i wanted it, it started crashing. I tried a PARTITION restore from a known good time and it STILL crashes. I can't figure that one out. jigs Ps, I need help fast, i am so used to using my setup in OD plus I can't deal with the MS interface anymore. Can u c

thanks sir! i guess i'll try that but at this point i don't think there is much to do overall...this stuff is just buggy. add the fact that docklets are written by everyone and anyone, the dlls being used may be the cause of most problems. rightclick is really crazy! jigs
thanks patriot! on iconx yes i did say yes to control appearence and it does that, but i think it does someother strange things too. maybe the desktop view (native) is just hosed, not that i need it. iconx is a very strange beast. on my machines i have to click and try several times to drag the icon around, like when i wanted to copy desktop shortcuts to a doc tab. but my plan is not to have a lot of shortcuts on the desktop... <
thanks for that! all of it helps. i just installed windowblinds 5, arg it changed my theme on me! but it's not a bad one, looks like iSkin but better. let me know about right click, i can't get it to work but for the desktop, which is at least very cool. wish i could get windowsFX to open windows where i want them to go. then the rest is just ni
