So, just wondering what others think of the new Gathering Storm expansion. Personally I really like it so far. Though the game definitely still needs some work. Both in user interface, and in AI.
I also like Gathering Storm. I think it adds a significant amount to the game, though I would agree that it needs some tweaking. Some things I'd like to see... More control over wha

Sorry...what's nexus?
For GC2 there used to be a Galactapedia website so you could look up all the different techs, etc., without having to dig through the tech tree to find stuff. Is there anything like that for GC3? (I know about the wiki but I didn't find it as helpful). I wish there were a searchable reference in-game.
What type of alerts are you getting? If it is something like this "Beware, [Your name]. We have received reports of pirates. These scavengers destroy anything they come across.", you can ignore it. It is just one of several generic conversations that the AI can initiate as part of the Flavor Text. They don't mean anything. Hmm... Guess not...
While playing with both expansions (Mercenaries and Crusades) I turn off the pirates. Yet I keep getting alerts and warnings about them. I never see them in game, which tells me that the setting is working. Is there a way to rid myself of the alerts? Sean
I like GalCiv 2 much more than 3. I would recommend 2 over 3. GalCiv 3 is more of... an acquired taste.
Although I really like GC3 Crusade, I'd have to agree with this.
Thanks! This should be on the wiki.
I bought GalCiv III a while back and thought it was a good game. I also purchased Mercenaries on sale (glad I got it cheap...not a great dlc IMO...needs a lot more mercenaries). I recently bit the bullet and bought Crusade at full price. What a great addition! Fantastic expansion. I'm still finding new things to do. I am happy to support Stardock. Crusade is money well spent.
8 GB is not overkill these days IMO. I wish I had 16 GB for GalCiv 3!

Put them on your Steam wishlist. You'll receive an email when they go on sale. You could also keep tabs on them on other sites such as Gamersgate, Greenmangaming, Humble Store, etc. Paradox seems to have sales quite often. I'd guess you don't have to wait very long for at least a few of them to go on sale.
I like Civ V better than any of the previous iterations, particularly w/ the expansions. I'm really looking forward to CVI. There's only one thing I wonder--will it work on my PC. I doubt it will, because my rig is 7 years old.
Unfortunately I can't buy much in 2016 (paying off a guitar--the same reason I don't play many games). But if Civ 6 comes out I'll be tempted, though I would probably have to buy a new PC to run it. :(
Much like some of the OP, I purchased and really enjoyed GalCiv III (though my PC struggles a bit with it) and Cities Skylines. I also purchased Endless Legend. It's a pretty good game as well. And like Larsenex, I still really enjoy Civ 5. Easily my most played game in 2015, 2014, 2013, etc... I also bought an older game from Matrix: John Tiller's Campaign Series. Great game!

Personally, I like the new movie a lot. But I do have one nitpick that is right in line with your criticism here... On the most recent Star Trek movie, JJ Abrams did a rehash of the old "Wrath of Khan" plot. That didn't sit well with me. Come up with a new plot. On this latest Star Wars movie, he does what is essentially a rehash of the original Star Wars plot. The bad guys are looking for a droid that has plans on a desert planet. The bad guy has a helmet--but one t

i've been watching Lets Plays of this. I'm planning on getting it soon. I'm a big fan of Panzer Corps and it looks similar.

Purchased GalCiv 3 while it was still only 10% off. Funny thing is it didn't bug me. I thought it was worth it.
I eyeballed this game for awhile, having played GC 1&2. But I was reluctant to make the investment for two reasons: my processor is barely above minimum (I have a Core 2 Quad at 2.33 Ghz) and I'd read that this was just a rehash of GC2. After purchasing and playing I was pleasantly surprised that neither of those seems to be the case. The game uses about 50% of my CPU and 80% of my RAM (8GB) but it runs pretty smooth. But what really impresses me is the ambience of the game. To me, ev
