Hey guys, Well sometime ago (probably could look back in my history) I was VERY skeptical to even consider getting rebellion. I think at that time I spoke of just a graphic upgrade and now uber mech ships. Alas as time went on and checking in time to time to see what was really being added to the game you peaked my interest of the game again. So within the last to close of release time, I picked it up and started playing the beta. At first the graphics where pleasing for sure, t

True that, I mean I will wait if that's what it will take, rather not, but alas that will the companies choice. Anyways, end of thread, thnx for the info and discussion everyone !

I get it, but for an addon when I have the other 3 is just to steep, If it goes down around 25-30 I will get it. The improvments sound great and I would love to pay for the hard work and all, but in the end it's "value vs play" and as it currently stands I like SoSe as is. I mean from what I remember the last "expansion" was indeed the "last expansion". This is a happy suprise, but the price is a bit steep for such an addition. I appreciate all the feedback and getting to understand what

I own most of stardock games so this is not a flame, but it seems the price for this new addition coming out seems a bit steep for the info about what is being added. I mean I could be wrong, I have yet to see an "offical" list of options beyond whats on the store page. I know how stardock loves to last min cool features :), but just curious on the price. I mean, don't take me wrong frog and team, I am a huge fan, but it seems a bit steep for an addon expansion. I might be missing the big

I think it comes down to inovation and or re-inovation. I see a game like The Witcher that was really done by a small team and then grew now into a huge AAA title after word of mouth went big. Sure, the graphics where pretty , but they took another engine to make it etc.. The devs there where very open on how it all went down etc. Now with their new releasing definitly in the AAA club, they kept to their roots of what made the first game great and in the end they will see that pay off ye

If I remember this was done on purpose, so that you expand into other cities to get the tech you want instead of teching up everything on the first city or even major stuff on the first city. Eh it sucks, but it can be done later. Also the AI has the same rules now so we don't see on turn 20, so and so world item used by the ai so quickly.
shards are not working in manual tactical combat atm. thats why you see so low damage outputs.
really? I didn't know about this to be honest, first build after beta has been more tankage army for me, but alas if this is the case, this would be why many think it's under-powered atm.

Magic is OP if you know how to "Channel" it, haha love that pun, anways as stated you need to optimize your channeling threw research and shards in the world. If you do, then you will hurt your abilities in other things like making better armor for your army etc. In elemental there is give and take, you are great in one thing or mediocure in it all, that choice is up to you, but if you want those huge exploding 100+ damage fireballs, do the research and know what you need to get there.
It isn't germane to the meat of the review of this game which is spot on for large chunks of the customer base.
bah defend your publisher all you want, but pc gamer uk is known to be the "worst" review/preview etc etc in all publications. Maybe the people in the U.K, are actually blind to this fact, but not many others outside it. Funny thing is, the Pc Gamer US version is always pretty much right o
Empire Total War was imho way buggier on release and still managed to get high scores from nearly all the major reviewers. I thought it was the worst by far of all the total war games released. Yet somehow this game is worse for having all the bugs that Total war had? Yeah I would say this reviewer has some sort of axe to grind with either stardock or the CEO. This game has a few glitches but it is still playable whereas Total War was not at rel

The reason I play stardock games and love them is frog for one, he says it the way it is. No ass kissing, no fumbling around with words. While it is pretty obvious to anyone with any brains that a comment like that is more for the concept of "hey, we do our best, give us a break we always fix our stuff to be launch worthy" at least they do it and with a history to prove it. Numerous companies release titles and could careless after if they have a budget for "fixing it". Stardock always has an

Eh just for the new guys that came after seeing the mailer that went out. You have no worries, I am not saying the game will be perfect (as all launches always find something) but the issues we had in beta where the same issues we had with previous titles by these guys like Sins game. it as many should know comes with in beta a tracer , basicly a built in system that monitors the game constantly and records all issues. This sort of monitoration in a game will kill it's performance and c

lol long responses , here is the simple summary.... Sins is a big game and allot to take in. Elemental is something you know if you played ANY tatic game or quest game. Very simple indeed, took me less the 20min to figure it all out. Details, now as time goes on there is a ton to learn (items , setting up units etc) but you can jump in and play day 1 , having fun and learn it quickly. Definitly off the sins build, but allot easier to follow. You should h

Well as the devs have said and I have no doubt will repeat, the CE really is no money maker for them they actually make no extra off of it, other then offering cool stuff to the fans of the game that want it. I myself bought the CE which comes with everything and a digital download version, As with their title Sins , I won't open it, eh call me sentimental, but I think it's cool I have these collector titles from stardock when they still are small ;) I predict a big future for them, so alas t

Some great ideas here for sure, again the trailer wasn't bad, but wasn't awwww striking as well. With some time and love it can be something dramatic that would get people on the first view. Again many of us knowing what the game is and pre-ordered, it really matters not. It again (as another pointed out) is ment to show those that have "no clue" the game is even coming out. I have seen plenty of post latly going... "holy crap, there is another stardock game on the way? Sweet!" along those li

Follow up, come to think of it you have allot of the elements in that vid allready, just add some city stuff, a bit more on x4, the combat and showing mass armies definitly liked that, if I didn't pre-order allready that there would have had me at least look at it. So really it only needs a bit more polish and a bit more info and I think what you would have would be what I would make.

You could probably have the fans make you guys one that's a bit better. The dream vid? It's more on the game, you had elements there, the casual music is a good intro and should have had a more dramatic up beat (IE climax) to the end, getting the player excited. Some would say add all the interfacing and while interesting that can turn people off as well. My dream intro... 1. Opening scene as you have the game coming , name, keypoints flashed on the screen. 2. Zoom in to see t
