Feature Request: having the ability to backup and restore configs now is a beautiful thing. Will make it SO easy to upgrade when it comes time to get a new computer. One request though, would be to have an option to automatically back your configuration up on a schedule. Once a day, or once an hour, or something. With the addition of pinned folder menus, this version now makes it possible to use Windows 11 as a daily driver! That was the last bit of functionality from Win10 and earlier MS had removed that I rely on in my daily work. Start11: Feature Request: allow customizing icon for folders added to Links section of start menu in Start Menu Products Stardock Forums

When adding folders to the links of Start11, as shown in the image below, please allow setting a custom icon for each, using the Windows standard icon picker dialog. When you have multiples, it would make it much easier to remember which is which. I wanted to combine Start11 with StartAllBack too... but for the taskbar popup menu folder toolbars that StartAllBack restored. Though even if Start11 could completely disable its taskbar customization, they would still conflict on the startmenu, no? Start11 - Tile backgrounds, and visual oddity in Start Menu Products Stardock Forums

I've just installed Start11 on my Win10 machine (after using it to restore a 10-style menu on a Win11 machine). Looks and works great on the Win11 machine. There are a couple issues on the Win10 machine though. First... how can I get the tile backgrounds back? I'm just saying that to quote those copies as "lost revenue" is wrong and misleading - basically a way to make the company complaining look more like a victim than it really is. the 150$ version is fine if you dont need any extras, but for a work pc, i need a lot of those, such as full RDC (which for somereason doesnt even come in the business edition), bitlocker (again which should come in the business edition). Even media center (which should come on Home Premium). If you want (or need) any of these, its ultimate or nothing. Which means you're at the 400$ price point (unless of course you know where to go to buy).

First --- those studies of the amounts lost are generally paid for by the people claiming to have lost. Well, i like having it around now, just so i can test my web layouts without spending 3000$ on a mac; BUT - i dont think it'll take over. In typical Apple fashion, its lets the user do almost NO customization; And a BIG gripe for me, is how unlike IE7 (and firefox? i dont know), you cannot set it to always open new links in a new tab in the same window. What i really wish they would do, is open it up like they did with the Office licenese, so that one license lets you install it on "up to x" computers (x being some number, 2 or 3)... to make it easier either a. for users with a desktop and laptop, or b. for Ultimate users, who want to install Vista into the one Virtual PC allowed on the machine. It is pretty dorky to not be able to put it in the VPC included with Ultimate.
