They said they're working on 1.2 for May and then 1.3 for June. That seems like pretty good support for a game that is pretty trouble free for most people.

Drivers are okay. Though updating them is always good. Might want to turn off anti aliasing.
Just download the file metnioned there and it'll install on top of what you've got.
I think the computer players specialize planets much more than human players tend to. Given that the AI plays a pretty good game, the fact that it doesn't always use planets like we would doesn't mean it's doing something wrong. Also, it uses the special tiles pretty well in my experience. Sometimes it's better to put a factory on a specila food tile though or a research center on a morale tile. Just because you could get some extra benefit from a tile doesn't mean it should dictate
what the hell... hi, i'm from germany and i've bought the game - but used. i have the cd, the serials in the back of the manual (also a seriual for the collectors edition) and i know want to update the game but i can't activate. it seems that the owner before me has activated. he didn't liked the game and has sold it to me - but now i'm very angry. what's that for a shit i
The AI kicks my butt at Normal. Sorry, your majesty, that you are so great and intelligent that even GalCiv AI can't live up to your lofty expectations. To the guy who said Civ 4's AI is better, that's insane. Even I can beat Civ 4 with lots of players quite a few notches up. It doesn't allow me to trade very much with it and so restricts what players can do that it takes a cop out. Were the borders put in because they're cool or because
I just got done playing an epic 2 day game. No problems to report.
Um, I was in the beta. I found beta 5 to be pretty stable and the final game is working flawlessly here. There is no way in hell a game this complex could have been released with it working perfectly for all people. If there is some huge major bug going on that everyone else, I sure haven't seen it. The closest thing I've seen to a serious problem is the losing mouse pointer problem and, surprise surprise, hardly anyone runs into it. I've got a Geforce 6600 and I've never
I agree with what the other posters said. The Konfabulator guy is incredibly arrogant. Today's panel is a good example http://www.konfabulator.com/cartoon/partSix.html He really tries to pretend that Konfabulator somehow originated something new and unique. Pretty insulting to the DesktopX developers who were doing what the Konfab guy was dreaming years before.
Ya, I just got my email today too. Simply incredible. Almost ridiculously generous. I have always supported Stardock even back years ago but this really takes the cake. I hope everyone who gets that email tells two of their friends to buy something from TotalGaming.net. This is just incredible support.
I don't think Apple is going to let that happen.
DogmaX and Vector Cell.
Thank you. I love your newbie guides so much! You are a fantastic writer!
I will tell you: WinCustomize needs a permanent "Essential library" of articles that is on every side-bar on every page. A set of must-read articles like the newbie articles, icon-a-day series, and other such things. There's a lot of information on WinCustomize but no easy way for would-be new users to get to it.
From what I have heard, Longhorn skinning will be a lot less flexible than it is under xp. There's no skin format, just bitmap replacements. Unless you have something like WindowBlinds.
The skin editor needs a lot of work from what little I've tried. You can't even make seperators with it.
You could just download Theme Manager. http://www.thememanager.net. It would take care of you.
DesktopX saves my desktop just fine. But it doesn't save widget layouts. Maybe it should do that too.
I use it all the time here. I basically replaced my desktop icons with DesktopX objects. I have little need for the much-hyped widget nonsense. If people wanted widgets so badly, they'd have long since switched to stuff from 545 Studios or Samurize or whatever where such little gizmos have been available for years. For me, DesktopX is about building desktops. Not for finding out what the temperature is outside or having other crap on the deskt
Probably hasn't gone through moderation yet.
The complaint that someone from Stardock wrote this on WinCustomize, a Stardock site seems odd. It's like going to say MSN and complaining about a Windows vs. Linux article. Except in this article, no conclusions are made. Brad never implies one is better than the other. He just spells out what they have in common and what's different and I've seen no one say that it's not accurate. If this article were appearing on PC Magazine and it was written by B
Thank you! Thank you! So glad to see some articles that talk about skinning like real people!
They'll probably need to know some more video card info to help and system info.
Hot chocolate. Mmmm.
They should onlylet people with higher access rate.
