Hey I've got a quick question. I started a game using the first version of the B5 mod. Which is terrific BTW! Can I continue my current game using the new version 0.2 or do I have to start a new game to use the new version? Thanks!

If found a shipyard bug. I continued a saved game and all of my user designed ships are gone from the shipyard. The ones that have already been built are still in the game, and the ones currently being built are still there, but I can't select any user designs as are they are no longer on the shipyard list. When I go a shipyard currently building my custom designs, nothing is displayed in the shipyard build window. I can't continue building a user designed ship when the currently building one is
I just uploaded the Galactopedia, so I decided I would run in Window Mode, so that I can access it during play. However, when I reset the game to Window Mode the game ceased to function. I can get to the Main Menu, but none of the buttons work. I searched the forums for similar issues, and found a few, but none had a resolution posted with the issue. A couple of notes. 1. I have never run the game in a Window before, and have not had any significant issues running it in fu
How do I run the game in a Window? I've never had any need to do this, so I never looked into it but... I just installed the Galactopedia, (seriously cool tool, if you haven't checked it out..DO!) and i would like to be able to run the game in Window Mode so I can access the 'pedia while I play. I can't remember where I saw the info on how to run in a window. Thanks, Rex
I had the same issue as Citizen One-Eye . The auto-update in SDC doesn't appear to be functioning correctly. So if you had a TGN subscription and are having errors when trying to update, go to Brad's link and install/update SDC from there. I did, and no more errors! It's now downloading the new files properly.
I've noticed this on a couple games now, but only since the last update. I can save a game. But when I exit and then try to load a saved game, I can't see anything on the main map. (Main map not minimap which is fine.) All other screens appear correctly, but the main map screen is completely black except that wherever my cursor registers the coordinates "0,0". Nothing else. I can make changes as normal on all other screens, advance turns, etc., but no main map. I'
Great advice! I was having all sorts of problems with basic things in the beta (like moving a ship). When I saw this post about new drivers, I didn't realize new ones had been released. I installed the new drivers and it corrected all my problems. Even ones I didn't think could be graphics card related. Thanks again Paul! Rex
I'm sure one you guys that has compiled all the terrific game aids and charts can answer this for me. When moving the to more advanced government types you automatically receive a +10 Diplomacy bonus. The game text for the gov. type also usually mentions something about increased economic power, but give no specifics. I could have sworn in eariler versions of the game it stated somewhere that you also receive a +20 Economic bonus. Is this no longer true or am I mistaken and there was never a

Another CTD error. Goto the Planets list and click on the "Tactical" button.
Terrific! You've been a great help! All questions answered. On to more GalCiv!! :CONGRAT:
Thanks Obi Wan, So is what you're saying that the "Alias" from the post-game submit screen and the "Player Name" from the Metaverse registration screen are/need to be the same? If so that clears up a lot. You don't by any chance know how to access a galciv.com acct in order to update a profile? I can't seem to find a link to do that. Thanks again for the help!
Hey Droid, I really understand your frustration. I glad to see I'm not the only one having problems with this. I was beginning to feel like a bit of a dolt! I've been trying for over a month and a half to get a game submitted. I finally did it yesterday and it also listed my first game from 2 months ago. But I don't know how I got it to work?!! I've posted asking for someone to explain the whole process clearly so that I don't have to go through the same thing all over again.
Okay this is probably a really simply/silly question, but I've managed to confuse and frustrate the heck out of myself, so I'll ask it anyway. How do the names work when submitting games to the Metaverse? Does it use the "Register your Player" name from the Metaverse reg screen or the "Alias" from the submit screen when you complete a game? The reason I'm so confused is that I submitted my first game months ago under my "alias" and it never showed up. Then a couple days ago I submi
