Random skins support in WindowBlinds Stardock Forums

Hi, I have the latest version of Window Blinds. An earlier version had support for random skins, How do I do it with this version?

OK, well I thought I found a different sig file but Start8 still keeps asking for activation. The file I found in an old image is called "start8sig2267.bin" is that for the last version of Start8? Maybe I am not restoring it right but I did have to do a system restore recently and I read that it means I need a reactivation, is that true? Anyway a reset would be appreciated as I think I've done all I can. Cheers, Joe

Latest Windowblinds 7 on Windows 7 SP1 x64 in WindowBlinds Stardock Forums

Hi, Why, when I have Windowblinds active, why does the whole desktop drop about 1/4 of an inch when I try to access my right click context menu and then pop back up about a second or two later before my right click menu comes up? My Windowblinds is installed properly as shown in the image. Thanks! Joe

Fence title question in Fences Stardock Forums

Hi, In Fences 2.0. I created a fence along the top of my screen with the title nice and big like I like it with the name of my PC. Anyway, do I have to use the default test built into Fences or can I add an image instead of the text as the title of the fence? Thanks, Joe

HI, I want to uninstall the 7.30 release or WindowBlinds and install and try the new beta that's up but when I try to uninstall it I get "Unable to read INSTALL.LOG" and the uninstall quits. Any Ideas? Joe

WindowFX 5 Beta 1 problem in Object Desktop Stardock Forums

Just a note on the beta 1. This program has a major memory leak. After about a half an hour my memory was full and my CPU was pegged at 99%! After disabling it all went back to normal. Thanks Joe

Windowblinds 7.30 final and IE 9 in WindowBlinds Stardock Forums

Hi, I have, as mentioned Windowblinds and IE9. For the most part they get along nicely. BUT every single time I run IE9 the first time it locks up with a blank screen with no toolbars, I only use Google and what came with Norton, or buttons, I have to end the process then restart and it's fine. All my event logs point to some errors with Windowblinds the moment iexplore runseven though I have EVERY exe file in the two Internet Explorer folder excluded from theming it locks u

1) The app name: Random high CPU usage apps ie... Ofice 2010, Photoshop etc... 2) The OS you are using: Windows 7 SP1 x65 3) The theme you are using Random themes setup 4) The problem you have encountered: Random application flicker and both the taskbar and entire screen drops about 1/4 inch for about 4-5 seconds sometimes it's one sometimes it's both and it's very random. 5) If you did report it to support a ticket number would help. Yes I left Norton installed and am using Windows 7 x64. I had to uninstall deskscapes though in order to run my system. I got a reply from Tech Support and sent them a series of files. so we shall see. Joe

Ticket opened. I am still on the edge of removing Norton and installing Comodo. I used to use comodo religiously but changed because of some bugs that they have actually fixed in the new version. Not sure what to do right now. I mean I can always go back to Norton. It is free and I have the installer. Any opinions? Thanks, Joe

HI. After 2 weeks of trying many thing, and suggestions, I had to, at least temporarily, uninstall Dreamscapes all together. No matter what I did it kept locking up my PC. Even disabling it did not work. Now with it fully uninstalled my system runs fine again. All I run in the background is Norton 360, Malwarebytes, WindowBlinds (latest), Icon Packager and Cursorfx. HI, I of course want to "turn off" Deskscapes before I start playing a game i.e.. World of Warcraft or Lord of the Rings Online. In the settings of Deskscapes where it says disable Deskscapes, what exactly does that do? I really want to remove it from memory completely. Any thoughts? Joe

HI, I "think" I found the problem, and sorry but there is some info I did not include. Deskscapes would lock up primarily when I ran Acronis True Image Home and I had True Image's affinity set to above normal. I ALSO had Perfect Disc's affinity set to above normal and both run in the background. Since I changed everything back to normal settings my system is running smooth again. What a goof I can be.... sorry guys, and gals but thanks for the help.

I LOVE Deskscapes but something is making it lockup. I have narrowed it down to one of 2 things. First, and both of these are with WindowBlinds, IconPackager and CursorFX Pro installed, If I click on, in the settings, current desktop (the first one to the right of random) and choose a style like fit, stretch etc.. other than Auto, it locks up within a minute or about the time it should change desktops. NM, I stopped using the Tabbed dock. I found it AND the quick dock at the bottom to be too much. I just keep items I use regularly in my quick dock and that's enough for now. I may change in the future but with DeskScapes too I don't want to block the desktop too much. BTW, I got the final word. There is no way to actually center the icons. They build from the left to right. Thanks
